Confirmed Signings

Is he 32? The profile said he was a sixth year veteran so I thought he was 28 or 29.

BREAKING: Sources tell me the Eagles are close to signing "Shark Week" to a 5 year deal. Waiting for @AdamSchefter to confirm.

I thought it was the robot from the Hardees commercial. Heard Reid got the hamburger as part of the deal.

In referring to the upcoming training camp battle between Rex and Beck.....here's the second funniest thing I've seen all day:

One thing is for certain, we are going to find out the answer to the question: "Would you rather have your quarterback throw for 175 yards in a loss, or 350 yards in a loss?"

Looks like Rex has officially signed his contract to return to DC. Looks like it is just a one year deal. He says "he wants see how things play out this year."

Isn't it sad? I really thought this staff would bring back Rabach and Heyer for 2011.

Perhaps the clouds are at last parting.

My God. Seriously, it's like the Skins from 2000. This is getting ridiculous at this point.

Actually, strike that, it was ridiculous a while ago.

the redskins had a buffoon as a coach though

Robert Henson has been released.

Correction. Henson is not cut. He was just expressing frustration at being behind Riley on the depth chart.

The difference is the Eagles are signing guys in their 20's while the Redskins were signing a 35 year old Bruce Smith and 32 year old Deion Sanders, etc.

They may not win the Super Bowl but they went about this spending spree with more intelligence than the Redskins did.

And let's not forget Jeff George. He was a cancer.

I dunno BT. Nnamdi's 30. Vince Young was a MAJOR distraction last year for the Titans. Jenkins is 30. Ronnie Brown is 29, with a MAJOR history of injuries. Jason Babin is 31.

I'm not saying it won't work out for them, but the similarities to the 2000 Skins are eery. I always thought the 2000 Skins could have been better and certainly made the playoffs if we had a better kicker.

And Eagles cut Akers.

Just sayin'.

Ryan Harris is 26. Cromartie is under 30. Young is also 26 and his issues were in TN. Funny how those often tend to go away when you move to a better club with lower expectations.

Yeah - I'm calling it now. Iggles will NOT succeed with this new lineup. Too many new cogs & no captain. Running around in circles does not a champion make.

Sure, they have to be the favored in the division. But we know all too well what off-season championships lead to...

Barring major injury problems, I figure the Eagles are going to win 10-13 games on talent and Reid's long-established machine alone. Some of those wins are going to be highlight reels, not unlike what they did to us on MNF last year.

But I have a sneaking suspicion that come playoff time, when the field gets compressed and it's as much about heart and focus and discipline and teamwork and brains on the field in crunch time as it is talent, they are going to discover that all-star teams often lack that "heart of a champion" thing that puts them over the top.

Yeah, there is no youth-movement with the FAs the Eagles are signing. They are giving long-term deals to guys who are 30 and over, way way way different than the Eagles' usual personnel M-O. Make no mistake, this is Andy Reid & Howie Roseman's desperation super bowl run.

Also, I'm so sick of hearing about how great a coach Andy Reid is. Really? If he was that great, he'd have a couple superbowl trophies right now. Even brain dead Mike Ditka won a superbowl with an unstoppable defense, yet somehow Andy Reid found a way to lose 3 straight NFC Championship Games, and then lose the Superbowl when he finally made it. Even Barry Switzer won a superbowl! I imagine Andy Reid finding a way to screw that up if he's on Jimmy Johnson's staff and gets the HC job.

Yes yes, he's the quarterback whisperer. Blah blah blah, stick him at QB coach and put someone who's good at HC. I'll tell you this much - put Gibbs, Parcells, Johnson, Payton, Cowher or even Belicheat on the Eagles instead of Reid in the 2000s, and they win at least 2 superbowls, probably 3.

What does he expect? He was out everything but pre-season last year with a knee injury and we had a brand new coach/system. Riley played that whole time. Went to meetings. Was in practices.

Seniority really doesn't get you anywhere in the NFL. Well, except a bigger vet minimum contract.

Didn't see this anywhere, Carlos has signed a one-year deal with the 49ers.

Can't remember who said it, but one of the beat guys talked to a scout who said nobody in the NFL had 'Los rated above 2nd-tier. Kinda sad, in a way.

Still can't shake the image of Henson (along with Chris Wilson) absolutely wreaking havoc on Arizona in preseason last year before he got hurt. Yes, it was against backups....but THEY were backups too....and were men among boys.

Really interested to see if it was all just a mirage or a sign Henson could be something.
