Confirmed Signings

Few of the Redskins players released or in free agency are of much immediate interest. The Redskins were an aging club that lost 10 games. Anyone we don't want is either done or has attitude/fit issues like Rogers and Haynesworth.

The truth doesn't just hurt, it burns.

Hot water burn baby!

Ouch :(

True BD but Rogers will get a call at some point. He is better than nearly any nickle back in the league and could start as the second corner on a lot of clubs. Sooner or later, someone will get hurt and 'Los will get a shot.

I am afraid Portis won't even get that much. I think he is done, whether he knows it or not.

How has the Rocca looked or is he allowed to practice, yet?

None of the free agent signings - re-signed or newly signed - can hit the field until Aug 4 (Thurs), as per the new CBA. The vets that are in attendance are probably just hanging around watching, offering advice or, in Sav's case, getting their work visa sorted out.

rogers will get on somewhere, it just wont be for as much as he thinks he is worth. I would love to have him back, but he needs to shut his yap and play football. it would let us move hall to nickel back where i would bet he would get a pile of picks.

Bradshaw, a much younger and faster RB barely got a whiff on the FA market. Portis will remain jobless, I'm almost positive.

I was thinking the same thing. Until the season starts and someone gets hurt creating a need at RB, only then does he stand a chance. Makes me almost feel for him. Almost.

Also, I kinda like the thought of 'Los coming back too Ryan. I am not sold on D Hall being a number 2 CB much less a number 1.

I saw a stat that showed opposing QBs had over a 92 rating when throwing at Los.

Last year, yes. A couple years ago when 'Los had his head on straight, before the benching after all the double moves and crap, he was one of the league leaders in that stat.

Rex Grossman has agreed to terms, according to Grant Paulsen.

Rex is like Danny Wuerffel, only one coach in the NFL wanted him. The idea he was holding out for 'starters' money vis a vis other NFL qbs is almost funny.

Carlos Rogers is addition by subtraction. He is a mid-tier corner whose ego far outsized his play on the field.

At 29 Rogers will never live up to the billing he received as the #9 overall pick in 2005.

Let him move on to another club.

Ditto for McIntosh who also appeared to be thinking he was in line for a big payday.

Not with those knees.

He's suited to a 4-3 in any case and at 230 was getting eaten alive in Haslett's defense.

I dunno....the fact is, Portis could be a good pickup as a 3rd down specialist. He can pass block with the best of em, has good hands and can motor in space. For a small contract, he could actually be a smart pickup for somebody.

Portis will first have to accept a reduced role. Is he at that point yet?

It appears Randy Moss wasn't and chose to retire rather than be viewed as a #3 receiver or red zone specialist.

I don't even know if that was the case with Moss...I think he just wore out his welcome in the NFL. So much talent, so little enthusiasm and effort. The one thing you cannot say about Portis is that he half-asses it. 110% all the time.

Moss wanted to come back. But he wanted to come back ona short list of contenders where he thought he would get major play.

NE didn't want him back and went with Ochocinco while the Jets went with Burress.

Stephon Heyer has signed with the Raiders.

In other news, Jason Campbell began to cry.

That's good news because now we know the Redskins will bring in a veteran to be the swing tackle.

I like the idea of Tatupu coming here to fill the hole at ILB.
