Commanders Trade Deadline Thread

I thought with 2025 Trade deadline less than a month away (November 4th) we should create an ongoing thread to talk about our needs and targets. Please feel free to merge if there is one already cuz I could not find one.

For starters, even though we did better in the last match, secondary is an ongoing issue. We may target one again, hopefully, not in exchange for draft picks like the last time.
 
Or Cameron Jordan.

Not sure I'm willing to give up draft picks for either of them, though. We are already the oldest team in the league.
 
Olave is only 25.

The problem with that idea though is they will probably expect at least a 2nd rounder for him. Maybe even 2 picks.

If he is healthy, he's probably as good a receiver as McLaurin.
 
I doubt we're going to be buyers this year, but I'm really glad this thread exists.

We already are down too many picks in the 2026 draft. I think Peters is going to probably stand pat with what he's got unless it's some real late round pick, or a back end of the roster player swap, or something like that.

I think Peters is going to want to collect draft picks if possible.

AP has six picks. I don't see him making a big time trade for a difference maker but I can see him sending out a Day 3 pick or doing a pick swap to add a starting caliber rental at a position of need

Eh, maybe. I don't see it. Our 2 and 4 are already gone, and so our picks are somewhat back-loaded to begin with. My guess is he stays pat, or maybe does a pick swap. I could be wrong, but that's my initial guess.

I'm sure he would love to figure out a way to get that 4th back. I'm just not sure there is a real way to do that without trading Payne, and I don't think they'll do that.

What about Rashid Shaheed. He's a burner. Better production than Olave this year and will probably be cheaper both cap wise to re-sign and for draft picks in the trade.

Will probably catch a ton of flack for this, but Chase Young? I think he’d come cheap since he’s been sidelined by a calf injury, and it seems like the league has humbled him a bit. Could be a good role player if he buys in- I’d bet having Wagner around would keep him in line.

No to giving up any draft picks for Chase Young.

Kick the tires on him as a free agent if he comes super cheap? Maybe... but even then I don't think so.

I agree, too much baggage here with the fan base to make it worth it.

We were supposed to build through draft, but this plan got changed/accelerated due JD5 play and we are where we are today. Not complaining one bit here. Also, AP has done great through draft, given the draft capital we have had for me. Saying that, I expect us to have some changes in the current draft capital, depending on how team performs over the next few weeks. Currently, we have the following picks per Tankathon:

An interesting thought would actually AP dangling OG Allegretti. With Cosmi soon to return and Wylie playing well at RG, Allegretti seems to be the odd man out.

I don't see the team giving up on Coleman and Wylie at least proved capable of being a swing guard. I doubt we'd get much for Allegretti, but with about a half dozen teams hurting on the OL Id imagine he could fetch a 3rd say pick.

Also, there seems to be some rumors that New Orleans is willing to trade DE Hayward. Not sure of the price as he's in the twilight of his career, but with AP still looking at ends he could definitely fill in as a rotational piece. It would depend on what the asking price is and if Hayward would even want to move at this point with it realistically looking like this would be his last season (though that can always change).

Allegretti is the backup center. He isn't going anywhere. No one is giving up a 3rd round pick for him. If he were moved it would be one of those Allegretti + a 7th for a 6th type of trades.
