Commanders 2025 Picks

One last thought on the value of the Connerly pick.

Everyone thinks that Cosmi will be ready to return in October and we're all acting like it will be plug and play, but that's not necessarily so. Cosmi may be rusty and take some time to get his groove back. Moreover, Cosmi actually didn't have his best year last season so he needs to come back from more than just injury. Given this, continuing to build the line is even more essential not just because one of our key pieces will probably be out for a month, but because we don't know how well he will come back. So, Connerly's pick isn't just about upgrading from Wylie or giving us the option of moving Coleman to guard, but it's about making sure the line is good no matter what happens.

Very true. There are a few assumptions being made about the OL along with Cosmi coming back.

It is not always easy for linemen to change positions and sides. Conerly has worked the LT position for years, how easily will he adjust to the right side while at the same time dealing with the speed, strength and athleticism of the NFL edge rushers. Also, can Conerly beat out the others for RT. Can Coleman adjust to the inside if that indeed is the plan or does he turn out to be the best RT on the team....or gulp, Wylie is. Can all of our OL stay healthy through the year, or can we have a bad run of a number of OL injuries like we saw a few years back. Can one of the vet Gs on the team become a worthy backup C because to me, Deiter is our weakest link for the OL.

Overall I feel like the OL is the best we have fielded in a long time and look forward to see them gel and kick butt
