Commanders 2025 Picks

Updated. We got our speed guy.

I like what they’re doing, OT and CB are tough positions to fill, and 4.3 speed is rare. Peters does well picking great athletes and getting good value.

Updated: Madrano sounds like a special teamer. Good raw clay though 9.83 RAS.

All draft picks now in OP

Amos is my favorite pick. Didn't love the Conerly pick since we traded for Tunsil, but oh well, OL depth is always important. The WR room is super deep after the Lane pick.

It's a small sample below from Croskey Merrit's one game this season but it gives you an idea.

One cut and go RB. I liked him before the draft and was pushing him a lot on the draft thread today starting in round 4 because of three reasons. 1. I knew the team was interested. Multiple meetings with him. 2. IMO he's an upgrade over what we have. 3. He's a below the radar type RB, and older, so he might fall where you get good value.

Only thing I didn't see much when I watched him was pass catching chops so don't know how good he is on that front. But as a whole, he's a do it all RB who IMO can be a bell cow. I see Brugler talks about him as a change of pace back. I disagree. Don't get me wroing, he might start out that way until he proves himself. But for me i see a change of pace back as a one dimensional type -- power guy purely, speed guy purely and sometimes players who struggle in pass protect. This dude IMO has enough power and speed. Good in pass protect too.

Some say he runs a bit reckless. Maybe. But I like that for the most part. To me its bringing violence to your runs and pushing for extra yards. His vision looks good IMO.

I compared him weeks ago to J. Hunter for whomever watched Hunter but with a bit more wiggle. He's one cut and go. He can get skinny in the hole. Breaks tackles in open field. Plays with his hair on fire. Good contact balance. Takes runs both inside and outside.

Had a weird journey. Losing out on eligability last year and had to sit out the season after playing one game. But still shined in that one game. Was the MVP of the Shrine Bowl. Great athleticism scores -- if i recall best vertical in this group. Yet oddly below the radar.

I am not saying this dude is a superstar but I think he ends up a good back and most importantly better than what we got.

I love both.

As for Conerly. When they hit the playoffs last year, I was jealous of Tampa's but especially the Eagles and Lions O line. I was thinking it would be so great to have an O line that stacked like that.

I used to post a quote on ES from a scout who said that if you have a good QB and a good O line it's almost impossible not to be a good team. That's always stuck with me.

Super relieved now that I've learned that our running back was deemed ineligible to play not due to any misbehavior, but having played to many collegiate games.

Thank you so much for your wisdom and knowledge during the entire draft process. I'm so glad you made it over here. Before you got here I was asking around if anybody knew how to get in contact with you because of the value that you bring to the board. Thanks again man I'm glad that you're here.

How's that for a kiss ass post?🤣🤣🤣

Should we add the UDFA's to the OP?

It is amazing how much bang for their buck I feel AP got out of our minimal day 3 selections

Our WR room became more explosive which is what it was missing. Also gained a dangerous punt returner that we lacked.

The offense also gained that true third down back that can be sprinkled into game plans all over...picked in the 7th round no less!!!

We got a speedy and efficient S/LB that will be a special team demon who should be worked into the lineup on some dime packages

Not too shabby

I came into the draft hoping we would get an edge, a corner, and a weapon Daniels (I preferred RB, but would have been okay with WR.) We left the draft with a corner, a running back, and arguably two weapons. Plus, a highly rated tackle.

Pretty darn good.

Conerly was an excellent addition. He's a Trent Williams style player - but isn't by any means Trent Williams. His agility and foot speed is great and he's a large space taker. He absolutely needs to add NFL strength.

Amos is a solid pick up. We now have corner depth.

The rest of the picks I don't have much of an opinion. I like that we emphasized athleticism in these guys.

Going into the draft I wanted one of the top 5 running backs in the second, which we didn't get. Really wanted Judkins.

But so far Peters has done well and I am not going to second guess him.

CB was the position I was most worried about, we adressed it perfectly. Amos is a solid #2 on day 1, with CB1 potential.

Our OL should be one of the leagues best and I felt like that just bringing in Tunsil and Herbig.

We didn't have a #2 WR last year, now we have Deebo which was a huge upgrade and we drafted a burner who is comfortable playing like Deebo and on ST.

Jacory could end up being the best pick. At worst he upgrades the Jags at RB3, at best he becomes RB1.

Great draft.

Oh, what would be the fun of a message board if we don't second guess the team ;)

Being both serious and flip, I think there is a way to respect him and second guess him. There are many people I deeply respect, but criticize because while even a broken clock is right twice a day... a working one might be off by a few ticks here or there..

While true - he has earned some respite. We have criticized every move we've made for the last 30 years. I don't feel the need to second guess Peters at this point. We were in the NFCCG in year one.

I don't love all of our moves - I just made a more long winded post in the FA thread - but given our results last year Mr. Peters & Quinn have earned me keeping my mouth shut and seeing what happens.

I am pleased with the draft - getting JCM aka Bill is was sealed it for me. Shout out to anyone that said OL was THE highest offseason priority, and apologies to all who I pushed back at. Yep I must eat crow because I didnt think OL warranted major upgrades; JD coupled with a shiny new RB should be able to match last years offensive performance. Boy was I wrong. I do think the injury to Cosmi helped make the decision easier to target OT and kick Coleman inside. Little did i know we'd end up using a 1st 2nd 3rd and 7th rounder by draft day to address the OL and get 2 Ts.

Love Lane.... love the WR. Where I was wrong last year was expecting BRob to get used more in the passing game. I now know KKs offense better and guys like Lane and Deebo just eat up those short game targets.
