Burner's Burning Questions: Offseason Edition, Free Agency 2014

It would be nice if we could find a punter who could kickoff as well.

Yes he can

2007: Managed the placement and kickoff chores throughout the season ... tallied 13 touchbacks, including four in the Papajohns.com Bowl, along with two each against Marshall and Louisville

2009: Saw action in all 13 games handling kicking, kickoff, and punting duties....had 23 touchbacks on kickoffs

Well if we're upgrading teams let's find a replacement for Sundberg too. Maybe I'm mistaken but seems the dude was off on numerous snaps this year.

Don't know who this is but here it is anyway:

Gruden is serious with the O-line. Penn is not leaving and that ROT spot is his for the taking

I don't understand that tweet...is Penn a possibility in DC or not?

I think he means Penn is not leaving DC once he gets here?

Ahhh gotcha, thanks!

This actually made me laugh. Penn scored a td against the Dolphins on a trick play this past season.

This blurb on Penn is from Walter Football.

"Donald Penn, OT, Buccaneers. Age: 31.
An overweight underachiever, Donald Penn failed to live up to the $41.7 million contract he signed in 2010. He has talent though, so with the right coaching, he could be a fine, short-term starter. Perhaps he'll be motivated after being released. Penn turns 31 in April."

Well, I'll try to be open minded here.

An overweight under-achiever? Probably has a penchant for fast boats.

We BETTER sign Penn and Clark today.
Because if we don't, it will mean that we've signed about a dozen players, and NONE of them have been at either of our TWO biggest gaping needs.

I think interior pass rush was a pretty glaring need. And increased pass rush will hide a lot of flaws in the secondary.

We haven't even begun to draft yet.

Hogs Haven has a new mock up that projects us to take a safety in the 2nd.

I think we'll go WR at 34. Gruden still doesn't have his AJ Green, and I think he'll be there at 34.

If he isn't, maybe a safety who would have usually gone earlier in most years will be.

We're addressing so many holes now in FA that we may have the luxury of going BPA at a position of need with that 2nd round pick.
