Burner's Burning Questions: Offseason Edition, Free Agency 2014

J'Marcus Webb, Anthony Collins, Bruce Campbell, Michael Oher, Marshall Newhouse, Ryan Harris and Charles Brown are the OTs I'd like to see signed. Not all of them, just one. :)

Any update on Anthony Collins? I'm surprised he's still out there.

He must think his value is one number, and he's finding that teams think it's a different number, lol.

Last report was Collins to the Bucs was practically a "done deal." No clue why he's still out there.

Does nicks have health concerns? Expensive? I really want him if not.

If we got Nicks as a #2, Roberts at #3 makes much more sense. Reed coming back as a #1 TE. With Hankerson competing for a job at #4 and robinson riding out a #5 for however long that lasts... Sounds good to me.

We cannot go into the season without a sold #2. We can't. I don't know if it should come from FA, the draft, or someone already on the roster stepping up.

I know our line needs fixed, but Griffin needs weapons. When he's a 10 year vet we can surround him with no name receivers the way Brady and Manning and other great QB's have had to deal with. Right now he needs to have guys that have his back and make plays for him, bail him out of bad situations. He needs more Garcon's.

One day we're going to be able to clone and that's what we'll do. Get one guy and clone him. 3 wide garcons for griffin and to drop back behind his 5 trent williams and throw to.

we'll have like 6 griffins that'd be 12 knees.

Nicks has had foot issues for the past two or three seasons.

His 15 games played this season is very misleading... He probably contributed in 3 or 4 of them.

Ouch. That sucks.

Blah. We need a #2. Maybe Roberts can step up. He's 5'11" I think, so not really the best candidate...

Dolphins are reportedly trading J. Martin to 49ers for conditional pick.

Nicks is often banged up. There's no question about it.

Remember though, we still need a starting ILB. Another CB. A starting Safety. Maybe a DE. A starting RT.

We can only do so much. Shanny and the cap left this roster in shambles.

4 years, 17 million for a OG is pretty solid money right? we should expect this guy to operate at near pro-bowl level for that kind of money?

I get that the O line franchise tag is 11 million, but isn't that skewed because of the value of a LT? I feel like 4+mil/year is pricey...

Most people agree chester was a bust and kind of not very good right? He was getting 3 million... and wasn't living up to it.

Other teams showing most interest in special-teams ace Adam Hayward (before he signed w #Redskins) were Eagles, Cowboys. Early NFC East win.

Not uncommon for these "practically done deals" to take a little time. As much as many of us want Collins, he would have been exensive after seeing how much guys like Veldheer, Saffold and Albert went for today. Our FO simply won't put that much money into the Tackle position. We'll likely try to fill the RT position through the draft.

I think Henry posted the numbers in another thread - starting stud OGs in this league make around $9-9.5M per year, IIRC. So, $4M a year is like avergage-ish.

Frank Schwab: WR Andre Roberts to Redskins: Four years, $16 million. Quick take: Roberts had 759 yards a couple years ago with Arizona, but last year the Cardinals had to feed Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd and his numbers dropped. He should still be a nice second option for Robert Griffin III.

I think I saw somewhere that Hayward was the Bucs Special Teams Captain. A hard working guy that overcame the loss of his mother and battle with the bottle. Definitely the kind of guy you could root for.

Not even close to pro bowl money.

He can play. There's no question about it.

Everyone is bitching about the Skins not having enough playmakers on D from September to January.. March-July applauding value signings

Kevin seems to be confusing applauding value signings with being happy a new regime didn't see it fit to make headlines on opening day of free agency.

Not really.

Broncos are going bat barf crazy. Just got Talib with 57 mil and 26 mil guaranteed.
