Burner's Burning Questions: Offseason Edition, Free Agency 2014

I like that we are not breaking the bank like Cleveland is with their 156 million in cap space, but I also feel like we should sign at least one big name. Maybe that will be Talib, but it would be nice to see Alex Mack brought in to go beside his former team mate at G. We have the money to sign him, but would Cleveland match the deal?
 
Never overpay a running back. Tennessee set themselves up for cap hell by paying Johnson all that money. Should have just said no.

likely. he was a flash in the pan. he held out and it's been downhill since then for him and his career.

maybe the best thing for him, and the titans, is for everyone to move on.

i would love to pick him up as a 3rd rb instead of sproles, but i'm sure if the titans release him he's going to demand big dollars. i'm sure they're going to try to trade him anyways, and we don't have the ammo to execute a trade like that.

not without redskins park being burned the ground and bruce allen having to navigate an ocean of pitch forks to go home.
 
Agreed, but I hope we are not looking at Chris Chester starting the opener in September at RG.

Looking at their roster everyone seems to be making nice coin.

Redskins source says the team will be meeting in Ashburn with Texans Pro Bowl defensive end Antonio Smith. CB Corey Graham also visiting.

I agree. Have some patience guys. There are still a lot of guys out there. I'm personally glad we're not just throwing money at free agents right now.

So far everything points to the Redskins being very patient at the beginning of Gruden's tenure. I'm very pleased about this. I want to see the team build a strong foundation though the draft and with good value/solid free agents.
 
Kyle Cook was released by the Bengals today. 6'3 and 315 center started all 16 games in 2013. He is 30.

Probably get an answer quick, Gruden knows what he's getting out of him, we'll see how he feels about him.
 
1. I love Andre Roberts. I always have. He's a huge upgrade for us, and he's already our number 2, unless we take a WR in the second. The guy can flat out play.

2. I'm thrilled that we passed on losers like McCluster. He has 9 career TDs, and I believe 10 turnovers. Ditto on the loser from NC. And ditto on Kenny Britt.

3. I've watched Gruden for 15 years. He's extremely intelligent. If he's drafting a few backups, it's because our backups suck.

4. We still have some cash. Byrd or Mack could be in play.
 
I bet we're also considering DRC, Anthony Collins, Nicks and Lafell too.
 
J'Marcus Webb, Anthony Collins, Bruce Campbell, Michael Oher, Marshall Newhouse, Ryan Harris and Charles Brown are the OTs I'd like to see signed. Not all of them, just one. :)
