I am definitely in your camp.
I actually do not want Young, because my gut and my observations are telling me that he is way over-hyped, and is not going to come even close to what they're rating him.
I was just being like a messenger with the Young tweets. I definitely do not share in Haskins', Guice's, the media's, and majority of fans' excitement about him.

The more likely scenario (although they might believe Finley can be the guy) is that they trade down to someone who wants to pick Chase Young.

You just never know. If their GM decides they have too many needs and goes onto full on rebuild mode, they may feel like getting a bevy of picks is their best bet.

Of course that's true. But all you can do is hope your talent evaluators and decision makers get it right. I'm just suggesting that Rivera has nothing vested in Haskins. If he views him as a project or thinks his ceiling is limited or that he doesn't have the leadership traits he is looking for, I could see us going a different direction if he sees someone in the draft he believes is the real deal.

Haskins needs to shut his pie-hole. I'm already getting tired of him. You're a rookie QB. No one gives one shit who you want as coaches or teammates.

Bulldog. You have the best 20/20 hindsight of anyone I've ever seen. It's easy to call a bust AFTER they have busted. Very easy. I've been at this a long time and I recall the hype and intangibles of each player I listed. You missed it by a wide margin.

Shuler held out and missed most of TC - it hurt him until his final days in the league. Manziel has a lot of talent, but very little upstairs.

Also, Bulldog. I agree with the vast majority of your analyses. We can agree to disagree on the scouting reports of Shuler and Manziel.

I'd be more inclined to trade down, Miami has 3 1st round picks and have pretty much given up on Rosen. I might take Tua there, but am tired of drafting players who cannot walk, with the hope we get value from it.

Not sure I'd want Burrow at 2. Then we lose the value of the pick by taking 1 starter as opposed to 2 or 3, and causing QB controversy...that is unless they can get Haskins out of the building ASAP.

Then draft Tua at #2 , then we're set for decades, starting THIS year :p

Assuming we go with Young with our 1st pick our starter LT will have to come from FA. Maybe a 3rd rounder could sit for a year and step in for 2021

Some of these guys will probably be tagged or resigned but there's a few interesting candidates out there. These two jump out because they're young and under 30

LT-Greg Robinson from the browns, 6 yrs in league, 27 years old, 6' 5" 330 lbs

LT-DJ Humphries from the cardinals, 5 years in league, 26 years old, 6" 5" 307 lbs

For 20 years we've done the right thing at LT...draft one with our premium draft location. I admit that none of the LT's in this draft are #2 worthy, but I would rather Trent find his way back for 2 more seasons than deal with a FA from another team...Trent at 31 is still the best option of veterans that we have.

I think it all comes down to what Rivera meant by changing the culture. If he's willing to bend on his initial statement and let Sybil come back I'd trust his judgement. It would definitely help in a year we have no 2nd rounder and garbage for LT depth.

I'd rather just see him traded for a 2nd or 3rd to be honest but RR will have a better feel for it than us.
