Burner’s Burning Questions – Offseason Edition, Free Agency

I felt it was his $9M cap hit that made this inevitable.

I'd say the two go hand in hand. If he played to the level of his paycheck the Redskins would be glad to pay him.

Well sure, but they were willing to bring him back if he took a paycut, which to me says the inconsistent play didn't bother them so much. It was all about the money.

Something tells me Moss will come back at whatever salary they want to pay him; he seemed legitimately excited to play with Griffin this past season; I think he wants to stay.

I agree, and hope he comes back.

I wouldn't mind Hall back at a lower price either.

Skins need to move on from older players that take up too much cap space. This team is not complete yet and we still need to bring in more talent.

The Steelers let Harrison go while the Eagles let Jenkins go. Those were the correct moves for those franchises given the players' ages and recent production.

Carriker restructured, he'll be sticking around. Important piece of the D if he can stay healthy.

LaCanfora is reporting Moss is close to a contract restructure also to save 2013 cap space, similar to Carriker's deal.

Assuming that Moss restructures or re-signs after a release, there are some suggestions out there about needing to cut more and/or restructure. Ninety minutes until presser.

word on the street is the presser is about Shanahan and Allen killing Snyder and assuming control of the team.

NFL apparently backed the move.

Cap relief to come.

Is it a bad sign that I giggled at this, and then felt guilty for not feeling guilty about it at all?

Donno. I didn't even feel guilty about not feeling guilty, so you're a step ahead of me on that one.

Let me know how it turns out ;)

this presser is setting up to either big a bomb shell or the most anti-climatic story ever.

What?!

What!?

What the **** was that. A gigantic waste of everyone's time, that's what that was.

First question should have been:
"why did you call us all out here for this?

Second question should have been:
"did the NFL call at 4:25 pm and offer to talk again about an agreement before suing, hence you being unable to say much? If not, then why did you call us all out here for this?"

Allen "We never contemplated a lawsuit regarding the cap issue."
