BGO Draft Chat

One thing has jumped out to me in with our first two selections. Scouting reports on both Kerrigan and Jenkins talk about leadership as being a positive quality for each guy.

I like both picks from not only from the standpoint of need, but also in terms of character. I'm glad we chose Jenkins over Marvin Austin, who is a character concern.

Hopefully, the Albert Haynesworths of the world no longer will wear our colours.

Note: if Ryan Mallett is our next pick, disregard what I have just said :)

From what everybody is saying Mallet probably won't get past the Raiders.

Eisen just reported a stay has been announced.

Just to be contrary, Schefter saying Mallett could fall another round or two.

CH, you nailed it, I am excited! I just read a quote of Jenkins where he said he would get on two knees if thats what it took to win. Love the attitude!

I can't complain about either pick Allen/Shanahan have made-I hope they keep this up.

That's a great point Hog. Both have motors, great attitudes, arguably over-achievers.

I like what we're doing. Under-the-radar selection of solid contributors in the trenches.

Cousin Sal just tweeted for the Raiders fans to brace themselves. al Davis may get confused and draft Camilla.

I like the pick....at least from a positional perspective. Ultimately, I don't know anything about Jenkins other than what I'm reading now. Here is ESPN's take on the pick:

What he brings: Jenkins has excellent size and his greatest strength is defending the run, where he gets good hand placement and can shed blocks, bu the needs a more violent punch. He flashes as a pass rusher but still needs development in the area. He could eventually become a pressure guy who hurries quarterbacks but does not bring them to the ground.
How he fits: As we know, NT is critical in the 3-4 defense, which was a disaster in 2010. Albert Haynesworth will likely be gone, Ma?ake Kemoeatu has never really recovered from an injury and that leaves backup Anthony Bryant as a potential starter. Coordinator Jim Haslett can play a lot of different fronts and Jenkins can play on the nose, over the guard or even shaded and with a group of DEs that are pedestrian at best he could also settle at that position. The Redskins are quietly really strengthening their front seven.

Redskins are on the clock? Eisen said Jags, but it's our pick. What happened to the Raiders?

Edit:" Wisniewski is a Raider.

Does this mean we take Mallet?

I wonder if Bowers' knee is just completely toast......

Al: I drafted Prince Charles?

Team employee: Yes, you got confused with that corner that went to the Giants.

Al: Well, can Charles throw on the run and across his body?
