I know when I am being a dumbass because Brian, James, or someone will try to make a joke to change the topic and I realize I have completely derailed a thread someone cares about. And I dont want to do that..

That's a good observation Mike. I also want to reinforce that I am not only speaking on one other site with my comments here, but my opinion is for many other Skins sites and other topics too that i have hung out at.

There is truly something special being grown here and its really cool to be a new part of it. The way you all have embraced me and other new members has been awesome to see.

I'm really trying to not mention that place here, mostly out of respect for some great folks here who are definitely uncomfortable with bashing them. Plus, we all have friends and experiences there and we dont want to burn bridges, but I am appalled at what I read there yesterday and this morning. wtf?

The moderator posts to Tshile are a prime example of how hubris filled control freaks can ruin a good experience. He was treated so awful in that thread for simply voicing an opinion.

I'm finding that a few mods there hold quite a bit of disdane for anyone who comes and joins here. They dont outright say it, but they definitely give the cold shoulder at a minimum and outright nastiness at times too.

I am so glad I found this place. The company is finer.

To be fair I poked them with a stick and they responded predictably. I stand by what I said and it is why I'm here.

Whatever. If they can't acknowledge their own shortcomings then it's a shame but it's their shame. The only thing that irritates me is they turn it into a 'you hate all the mods and think we suck at doing our thankless job' which isn't true. I was just pointing out their cliques and how they behave. Oh well.

I've gotten in way more trouble here in 2 years than I did there in 5+, yet I think the mods here are much better. According to them my opinions are based on getting in trouble... Does not compute.

Edit: isnt also interesting that one can seemingly be banned for a mod getting upset at something you have said on a site they dont even moderate?

I believe everyone will find they are much happier here.

As far as any particular mod goes, I suppose a few people could email the Redskins directly to cite complaints if inclined to do so. Although I'm not sure how much of an impact that might have.

I would hope that the PR folks from the team could see and act accordingly, but I highly doubt it.

Simply put from my end of things, Its just not worth it.

This is our home and its better, lets keep it the best and let the other fall by the wayside as more and more start to see the forest for the trees.

Agree completely. Having said that, curiosity got the better of me this time, and I checked it out. Probably shouldn't have, and I doubt I will be heading back there at all anymore. That whole thread is... disgraceful.

Life is too short for drama. Seriously, if folks would just try to be nice to each other, staff or not, there's almost no need for all the drama and those kinds of interactions. I thought your comments were great Goal.

No need of any kind for you to apologize SS - I'm talking about other sites btw - I think we do a great job here of policing ourselves and keeping it civil. You ARE a great member. There's a lot I could say, but I won't. That's a habit staff at other places could learn from.

A point was made in that thread and I agree with it. Some places become too big and crowded while other places are smaller and more suited to a particular need. I can identify with that line of thinking and it certainly applies to me in many ways.

However, that is not the main reason why I spend a majority of time over here. It had to do with a racism charge that was leveled at me and nothing was done about it. Instead of raising a further stink (at some point, you just move on), I chose to let it go and make my statement in another way. I'm still a member over there, but they lost a good game (NASCAR related) and someone who has decent writing skills (thanks for letting me blog here ).

As for the legalities, that is up to each one to decide. I probably have a case, but it's not worth it. I still have friends that I prefer to keep and that is good enough for me.
