Bourbon is meant for sharing, I actually rarely ever drink alone. My best friend and bourbon partner just bought a house a block off the beach in Ocean City, MD just below the DE border. We have named it the Bourbon Bungalow. Our summers just got way better. Our wives are good friends so the plan is to send them to the beach and then sit on the porch and sip bourbon. He's also getting a keg orator because as you well know Boone sipping bourbon all day can lead to trouble!! Have to mix in a little weak stuff.

Is it time to buy the new batch? I swore I'd pay attention and try to buy some out here...guess I'm going on Monday after work to scope it. out

It starts coming out in Oct. it has just now arrived in the DC area. Kentucky is where you see it first. I have no idea about Texas, but it's worth calling and looking around. Getting it with no mark up at only 75 a bottle is a steal if you can find it.

Yeah you gotta be on the lookout all through October. All of it that I bought was still in the backroom, had not made it to the shelves yet. I had ask the sales people to go check. This stuff is RARE and hard to get for retail.

I finally had a chance to sample this years Eagle Rare 17, William Larue Weller, and George T. Stagg.
The best in my opinion easily is the WLW, while not quite as good as last years a truely great bourbon
The ER came in second but not one of my favorite years.
The Stagg though weaker in proof this year has much more burn. You scotch guys might actually prefer it. Heavy rye notes this year.
Overall probably not one of the best years except for the WLW, it truly is a classic. Tastes like it has sugar in it, it's so sweet.
