Adam Peters and his Front Office

Shen is back with the Sixers/Devils parent company from what I was reading. He is a Harris guy and was not fired here, which ESPN incorrectly reported.

As usual ESPN’s deep dive on events was only skin deep.

Bumping this thread to point out one thing, although there are others:

The acquisition of Noah Brown is an example of a quality front office making subtle moves, I’m not really sure I’ve seen a Snyder GM make a move like that ever.

FA training camp acquisition that didn’t cost waivers that is producing.

Not a world beater. But a quality add that cost nothing that’s producing, which is a move people who know what they’re doing make. They push things at the margins.

Ps - I lied, I also think Luke McCaffrey is going to end up being another example

PPS - I love Sheehan under promise over deliver mantra. Subscribe to it. That’s what I see out of this front office so far. A breath of fresh air compared to the 25 years of polar opposite.

Johnny Newton's emergence may underscore another important point. Rivera drafted for need especially in the early rounds. It was child's play to predict what position they would pick in the first two rounds. It was always a player meant to patch a hole (with the possible exception of Mathis). When Newton's pick came up, Washington was desperate for a corner and there was a pretty highly rated corner who had slid to us. What did Peters do? He chose the guy who was a player possibly at our strongest position. A player that we absolutely did not need and made many go "What? He's good player, but... What?"

Flash forward, Allen has a poor year and then is lost to injury. Suddenly, the supurfluous piece is essential. Even more so after we traded Ridgeway away.

Just collecting random receipt from the random thought thread for AP’s record.

And I agree. I see lots that are indicative of the person in charge having a plan, and a clue.
