Adam Peters and his Front Office

Looks like moves are ramping up, likely going to have a lot more to talk about over the next few weeks

Martin Mayhew was already given a lesser title but also a contract extension.

We also don't know the working of him vs Rivera.

He was making calls attempting make trades on the 'behind the scenes' videos and he said "let me check with coach".

No this does not mean Mayhew is perfect, but it also does allow for the question to be asked... was he really that bad? I don't have the answer to that, and time will tell.

Quinn admitted that the team pick of Mariota was a ‘tell’ about which direction the team was leaning before the draft in aligning skills to Kliff’s scheme.

The Cowboys were annoyed that we poached some of their players. Yesterday, I read some Lions' fans unhappy that we've signed two of their Front Office heavy hitters. Keep it going, Adam. Just remember the number one rule in football-- Never go after a QB Andy Reid is willing to let go.

I don't mind a bit (even though Cowboys' mercenaries have rarely worked out for us.)

Also quite possible that while Mayhew may be very good at some things, he was in over his head with the role he held while Rivera was here. The previous regime was doomed for one simple reason - and that’s because Dan Snyder gave Ron Rivera absolute control and he’s clearly not a guy who ever had any business having that much authority.

Ron made the picks. That seems obvious as the same kinds of mistakes were repeatedly made - consistently going for measurables and ignoring the character/work ethic/emotional intelligence we see this front office emphasize with picks like Sainristil and Sinnott.

Chase Young and Jamin Davis are great athletes but they aren’t great football players.

Here's a brief summary although it may not include all of the changes...
  • Brandon Sosna hired as VP of Football Operations.
  • Hired David Blackburn as Director of Player Personnel.
  • Bill Polian and Eric Stokes both moved on.
  • Commanders' national scout David Whittington is moving to the Carolina Panthers to become assistant director of college scouting.
  • Washington college scout Harrison Richter is off to the Atlanta Falcons to be a national scout.
  • The Commanders are also hiring scouting assistant Jack Quagliarello from the 4San Francisco 49ers to be a pro scout.
  • Senior director of player development Malcolm Blacken has also departed the nation's capital.
  • Dave Gardi is leaving the NFL office after a decade to become the Commanders' senior VP of football initiatives.

Staff holdovers in Washington include:
  • Martin Mayhew, senior personnel executive and advisor to the GM.
  • Senior VP of football administration Rob Rodgers.
  • Director of college scouting Tim Gribble.

Here's another one

'former Assistant Director of Pro Scouting'

Who ever thought former Lions scouts and executives would be so in demand around the NFL?
