I thought I had it. Who could've guessed Aaron Rodgers wouldn't hit his projections? Damn FF.
 
You are worried about Aaron missing his projections? All but three of mine missed their projections including McFadden and the Tampa Bay D which missed by double digits. The way my team has been scoring, I didn't think there was a way to lose a match up where my opponent didn't score over 80. :(

Capricious indeed. But it did make the bye week fun!

I have 4 things to say:

1. Boone, sincerely, not only are you a great guy, but you are very classy, and just took an unbelievably bad beat.

2. Boone, you could have played 12 other teams this week, and you would have crushed all of them. Your team is fantastic. Janikowski with 3 field goals over 50 yards in one game? Incredible. Ward en fuego? How old is he again? Nice grab.

3. I believe you have one of the top teams in the league. Don't get discouraged by season records so far. The year is very young. Your team is scary. And I expect to see your team playing someone else deep in the playoffs.

4. Jahvid Best has now hit legendary status in FF. Monday night superstar. He looked like Ronnie Brown of seasons past out there tonight. He looked like what we hoped Portis could be, but just could never seem to deliver.

Great game Boone. Stay positive. You are going far this season.....if not winning it all. Just get into the playoffs, and the rest will fall into line.

Of course, if you're serious about being done, don't forget to start all your players on a bye. ;)
 
Ooof, that's rough. I'm willing to bet McD never enjoyed a win less. Keep with it Boone, you'll be fine.

Gotta agree with McD5 on all counts, John. Don't quit! Its only week 5 - your team can easily get hot and win 3 straight and all of a sudden you're back at .500 and in playoff range.
 
I won't bail, only because it's not fair to everyone else playing. Just not having much fun so far. Third in total scoring, but I've had 628 points scored against me. Grrrr....

I was reviewing both points scored, and points against for the entire league. And you have definitely been robbed so far this season.

Not only have you been third in scoring, but you have by far, had the most points scored against you. That can happen for spurts, but is unlikely to continue for the rest of the season.

I honestly wouldn't even be concerned about your current record. That should fix itself.

And for anyone else whose record isn't exactly where they would like it to be right now, don't give up. If you spend a little time on the waiver wire, you can turn a disappointing team into a winner pretty quickly.

In addition to my current team, I would love to have an 0-5 team right now with a completely empty roster.....and build it from scratch off of the waiver wire to see what I could do.
 
Boone's experiences are exactly why I hate the head to head scoring instead of going by total points. It's BS and it hurts great teams and helps bad teams win matchups when they shouldn't. I think next year we should do straight points so everyone places based on the strength of their team and not the luck of the person they are matched up against.

In theory, since we have 14 teams, if you matched up against all 13 guys, and they all had their best week of the season against you, you could be first in scoring and be 0-13. It's stupid, this format sucks.

Obviously since my team sucks regardless, I am not being biased, I just hate the head to head format and think it should be abolished next year. I also don't like how we don't have defensive players included.

One final suggestion I have is that maybe next year everyone participating should have a say so in how it's structured and do it by majority vote. It's no coincidence that the commish is destroying everybody. In every league I'm in, the commish is destroying everybody, regardless of the setup. The reason being, whether intentional or not, they structure it to suit their plans. Nothing at all against you Lanky, we all would have done the same thing. I just think all the participants should have input next time.

And for the record, screw being commissioner. More power to you Lanky.

The head to head way is part of every single league I have ever been a part of. I am a part of one money league, and half the prize goes to highest point total, and half goes to the playoff/super bowl winner; I might be in favor of Boone/Neo/Om (BooNeOm?) creating another avatar for the points winner, but to do away with the head to head all together takes some of the fun out of it for me.

To Lanky's credit, he asked for input this year and last year about how things should be structured, and got very little public response (can't speak for pm's). I think both years were thrown together quickly, though I could be wrong, and Lanky volunteered to set things up himself. Not saying he is above criticism (the draft order comes to mind :D), but cut him some slack.

This thread placement was in the 5 O'Clock Club last year, and I think it is better here this year. We should be able to remember to update it when the season is over with our likes and dislikes, and all provide some feedback for next year.
