This surprises me. Good camp, good pre-season, good in the locker room (right?). He was clearly the next CB up if one of the Top 3 get injured.

Maybe they think he's played his way into actual trade value?

If we could get something decent for him it might be a smart move assuming we stay healthy at the position.

We've traded so much draft capital to shore up areas of weaknes its not a bad strategy to get some of it back from areas of strength.

Or they viewed him as the only one that could produce enough tape to get value for so they let him go out and do just that.

Bobby Price played as much as Noah I did and he just got smoked. A no. 4 DB in the current NFL is worth a decent amount with the number of offenses that run 4 and 5 wr sets on the regular..

On top of that, they may figure he's likely the no. 4 CB, but they can fill that role with a Safety room that consists of versatility like Owens / Quan / Butler / Reaves / Harris. They may opt for the additional safety over CB IF they get the right asking price. If they dont, they may just keep him.

probably because they lack a young, developmental option outside of Hartman this year. Josh Johnson hasn't been cut yet but even if he was, I don't think we're at serious risk of losing him to someone else. if we lose Jayden and Marcus, season is gonna be done anyway and we'd be looking at rehashes that have worked with the coaching staff before, like Driskel, anyway.

If adding a guy to the PS helps with the social cohesion of your QB room.... money well spent
