2025 Commanders Transactions Thread

I agree wholeheartedly, and for some reason I think the team would actually rally around Hartman. But as Anselmheifer stated above, once you're on QB #3, it's not a good situation, so the spot might as well be filled by someone who is a positive influence and well received by the team, and a stabilizing presence for Jayden.

I don’t think either Josh or Hartman are making the initial 53. I think Hartman ends up on the PS and Josh ends up off the roster entirely. Unless Josh goes completely banana in camp/preseason and forces their hand with exceptional play.

Yeah I think Johnson will be their main preseason guy, especially for the second half of those games.

What happens to him after that... we'll see.

The only exception I can think of is if there is a great developmental guy. A guy with fantastic tools that needs a lot of polish. Like, if you had drafted a Jalen Milroe type player late, and you thought you could develop him. I feel like the Favre era packers drafted a guy late and then developed and traded him for a 2nd rounder a couple of times.

Commanders sign Tyre Phillips - OL

6'5" - 330LB
5 year vet

Commanders have signed DT - Carl Davis

That's a good faith move for sure! Next is Terry, they are in a spot where I think he must be extended as he is the poster boy for the new regimes.

Jalen Ramsey is OK as long as everything is going well and the team is winning, etc.

As soon as there is any adversity and a season looks compromised he’s looking for a way out.

I think we have acquired enough guys in Deebo, Lattimore and Tunsil that coaches have to keep their eye on for different reasons.

No reason to add to the load at this point.

Fully expecting many fans to become irate because McLaurin is still not figured out; however, this signing likely has zero bearing on the McLaurin situation.

He’s way up there in age, most likely a situational pass rusher, I’m guessing. Hoping he has enough gas in his tank to at least flash some of his past brilliance now and again.

Yeah i don’t think he’s being brought in to be a 3 down player. I imagine he’s coming here to, like you said, be a situational guy and be a vet presence with experience.

George Allen won a bunch of games in the 70s with his “Over The Hill Gang”—dudes that the rest of the league discarded for being past their prime, he brought in and told them he knew he could win with them because “40 men together can’t lose!”

That might be getting a reboot this year lol…Dan Quinn seems like the kind of coach that could definitely pull it off.
