2022 Roster Updates

Not sure if you will be posting UDFA picks here or not. One intriguing pick we just made is signing Ferrod Gardner LB from Louisiana.
 
Does the team have to wait until June 2nd to bring Landon Collins back?
 
Has Landon Collins looked at the past two plus years and how his star has fallen around the NFL as a traditional safety coming off an all-pro nod in 2016 and a pro bowl the following season?

That's the key, managing expectations. His pride is hurt that he is no longer at 28/29 viewed as he as in his younger days with the Giants and it would be surprising to me if after refusing to take a pay cut here he then comes back on an even lower salary deal for Round 2 with the franchise.

I am sure he is looking to go to a Buffalo, Kansas City or LA Rams type team even on a low salary deal to try and win in the spotlight and thumb his nose at DC.
 
I’m sure that’s what he wants. Is that what those teams want? We’ll see.
 



Someone we were linked to during free agency.
 
Trai Turner and Andrew Norwell are a solid set of starting guards for this team and at a reasonable cost.

Brandon Scherff and Ereck Flowers if both were kept maybe would have been the most expensive pair in the league?

I don't think the difference between the two pairs is worth that type of coin.
 
I like Scherff, but you could pencil in him missing a third of the season due to injuries every year.
 
Does anyone know why Scherff didn't want to be here ?
To me, it was clear for at least the last 2 years that he had no real intention of re-signing.
 
I imagine it has to do with how the Trent Williams situation was handled. He and Trent were apparently very close. It could be any of a number things though. Lord knows Washington has had its share of off the field messes.

well, if Brandon Scherff didn't want to be here because of the 'organizational mess' in Washington, he sure picked a spot in Jacksonville where the owner, GM and head coaches have great record of putting together contending teams and winning championships :devilish:
 
Scherff was a graduate of the Cousins School of Contract Management.

Has any other middling NFL player made more money than Kurt?
