2022 Roster Updates

Settle gone.

im actually glad someone else signed scherff, even though I am a huge Oline guy, scherff wanted too much money for what he is. he is a solid guard who is a step below the elite. not someone you pay a massive contract to. I hope we draft the best Oline or corner available and my hope is that we sign wagner to be the leader of this defence, wagner is a guy who doesnt rely on athleticism even though he has it, and that might rub off on the young guys who seem to need a leader really bad.

Wagner will end up in Dallas unfortunately. Honey Badger tweeted 'Nations Capital' and deleted it awhile ago...

You are probably right about Wagner. We can only hope there are too many egos in that locker room to kill what they had going for them last year.

Losing Settle means you have to keep Ionnidas and Payne now. Depth is running low on the DL.

It's looking like they always intended on keeping those two, and that they saw Settle as the 3rd best player of that group. That one does sting though, especially because he's a youngster. But we just have too much salary on the DL to have the luxury to keep them all.

In a matter of a day and a half, our defensive line went from being a strength to now being an area of concern depth wise. Combined with the uncertainty regarding Payne's future, you almost have to dip your toes in the FA DT bargain bin market, or invest a pick in the line during the draft. Seems to me like a trade back from 11 to help fill depth positions might be a prudent thing to do at this point.

What. In. The. Literal. F?!!!!!!

Erick Flowers and Matt?!!!

You can't make sense of this regardless of how hard you try. You are either giving all that money to Terry (and now Payne) or you're completely batshit crazy.

Not crazy if the role of the team is to be a junkyard for the likes of Carson Wentz. The needs of the league out weigh the needs of the team. Indy is in good standing, Snyder in a prone and comprising position.

Payne, Young, and Sweat have all made some noise about $$$$. This is another reason losing the OTHER guys on the DL seems like a bad move to me. I keep thinking that the Settle one is going to sting next year. I've been wrong before though, maybe they simply rate him differently based on what they see.

I really liked Settle to. To me he was becoming the perfect NT. He was freeing up teammates , getting great push up the middle and finishing , not to mention he was durable having played in all 16 games except for one season in which he played 15. I think we all knew this was going to happen to our D line eventually .... sucks!

I like him too. It really is a hard sell though to ask a player to come back to be a backup with no clear vision of an opportunity that he could become a starter.

I'll miss that 300 yards

I thought he was fine at WR, better than expected, but it was his return abilities that were special. Over 1000 yds combined - that's big. Maybe the best we've had back there since Brian Mitchell imho. It's a loss from that perspective - it's been a long time since we've had a returner as good as Carter. But you have to think letting him go means we plan to draft a WR in the first 3 rounds. That's my guess anyway.

I would have rather we move on from Cam Sims or one of the lesser WRs and kept a guy who actually overachieved, especially in an area we continually seem to struggle with. Who returns kicks for us in 2022? I have no confidence in anyone currently on this roster.
