Yep, 2 and only 2.

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions from that.

I would grab the best QB available at #11 and I'd tell Wentz 'You are our guy - it's not in question, but it's part of our long-term plan to draft QBs'. We can't keep pinning our hopes on a QB and have no viable starting backup plan.

That being said, I fear we will not draft a QB at all.

Here is the question. Do you draft a QB at 1.11 or at 2.15? I guess it depends on how QBs go in this draft. I guess it depends on who is available at 1.11. But if you take a QB there, you don't have an opportunity to improve any other position until 2.15.

I'd probably go for the second rounder unless you really loved one of the first rounders. My guess is that there is going to be a much better positional talent at safety, linebacker, or wide receiver than QB in the first.

Thanks!

The capitalization makes no difference to me. If we leave it lower case I can fool people into thinking I'm humble.

Here's the thing ... it's counter-intuitive. I think in a draft where there are supposedly no sure things, the instinct a lot of teams have is to grab the one they think has the best chance early before someone else does. But in fact, in this kind of draft, there probably are 1 or 2 of them that will turn out to be special (or at least Kyler Murray good - guys you can roll with for awhile). I think it's less likely teams would agree on which 1 or 2 guys those are, and even if they did agree, there's a 50-50 chance they pick the wrong 2 :)

So it actually might favor picking later if one of the guys our braintrust think have that potential - we have as good a chance of finding the hidden gem there as we might at pick 11 - make any sense?

yes, when it's a 1 in 7 chance that 'the guy' is there, then its more of a value to use that '1' later.

unless they see someone they LOVE and they think he is THAT much better than the rest to take them at 11. If it's a close your eyes and point situation, then letting 5 of the guys go off the board isn't a big deal because the chances of you getting 'the guy' are similar when none of them are separating themselves from eachother.
