Chase Young was the consensus best player in the entire draft. Lots of analysts had Davis only the 3rd best LB (or worse) in the draft. I think they are wrong, but pedigree (where a guy was selected) always plays a part in these kinds of things. In fact, I saw a study that showed where guys are drafted impacts their pay levels for the duration of their career, even if they far out-perform their draft status.
I think Washington fans have, for years, felt our players were disrespected when it comes to awards and recognition, but we are seeing now that when you win and have better talent, you get plenty of recognition.
