2nd-Annual BGO Ballers Fantasy Football League

I'm really surprised at how many good teams were drafted. With 14 in a league, the talent is usually thin. But I like every roster I have seen so far.

Well lemme give you something to change your mind then...

Kicker is empty cause I didn't pay attention. Hopefully I'll get one on Saturday! Happy to be FFing again!!

My kicker is empty because I thought Yahoo would autodraft one for me! I had no idea you could just not draft a kicker!

Just curious Extreme, but why did the Forte pick confuse you? Where exactly did you have him ranked? I took him as the 14 drafted RB - most websites have him ranked around the 10-12 range...

And Holmes done in NY? They just re-signed him to a huge extension.

Lanky, I love your draft, fwiw. Not crazy about Forte, I just don't know what you're gonna get with him. Rice is money, sorry Extreme. Sure, Baltimore passes a lot, but Rice excels at catching balls out of the backfield. He also is the primary goalline back with McGahee gone. I think there's a very good chance Rice leads the league in rushing this year. Great pick with #1 and it took balls to pass up AP.

Still trying to figure out how I ended up with some many Iggles and Bums...

For the record, I'm not crazy about Forte either. I think the Bears fall off in a big way this season; but I do think they'll manage to score some points. Forte will have some big games & some **** games, so hopefully I choose correctly. :)

I also love my draft, I think it might be the best team out of four I've drafted...of course that means I'll probably finish dead last!

Girl Parts

QB - Drew Brees
WR - Jeremy Maclin
WR - Chad Ochocinco
RB - Chris Johnson
RB - Felix Jones
TE - Brandon Pettigrew
W/T/R - Anquan Boldin
K - Nick Folk
DEF - New England
BN - Kevin Kolb
BN - Darren Sproles
BN - Robert Meachem
BN - Dexter McCluster
BN - Zach Miller
BN - Arizona

I can't believe Brees fell all the way to you in the 2nd round. I was crossing all my toes & fingers that he would last until my pick but alas, it was not to be.

I can't either. I'm not in love with my team but I don't think its horrible, either. I'll probably be middle of the pack this year but I've struck lightning before.

I always take at least one player that could be a boom or bust and this year it was Felix. He is number 1 on the depth chart and he's good out of the backfield but he has injury issues. So we'll see.

Also hate my tight ends. And don't know why I made 'Zona my bench D. In fact I'm gonna go change that right now.

Felix Jones is good, but he's also Mr. Glass. Its not an if but a when he'll be injured.

So, I don't think L J has signed up yet. Is anyone interested in taking over for LJ's team? Here is the roster:

QB: Eli Manning
WR: Mike Williams (TB)
WR: Brandon Lloyd
RB: Arian Foster
RB: LeSean McCOy
TE: Greg Olsen
FLX: Shonne Greene
K: Nate Kaeding
DST: Philly

BN: Jerome Harrison
BN: Malcolm Floyd
BN: Daniel Thomas
BN: Jared Cook
BN: Stephen Gostkowski
BN: New York Giants

Alright, here's what I got:

QB
Tom Brady (NE - QB)

--The top fantasy point guy of 2010....went QB instead of RB first. Thought about Brees, but Brady has so many fewer INT's that I went with him. If he can stay upright, it'll be just fine.

WR
Lee Evans (Bal - WR)

Drafting 13th out of 14 teams meant that I had HUGE spans without picks. As such, I could just sit and watch all the top tier WR's get snatched up. I went with Evans cause it seems to me that he's gonna see the bulk of the balls with Boldin getting double teamed on the other side. He could have a huge year.

WR
Julio Jones (Atl - WR)

Typically, I'd never touch a rookie WR in a fantasy league. BUT, from all I've heard, Atlanta is tailoring their entire offense around this guy. With a depleted list to pick from, I took a flier here. Could burn me, but what the hell.

RB
Peyton Hillis (Cle - RB)

Other than QB, RB is the fantasy point machine position. Went strong here with Hillis.

RB
Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB)

REALLY wanted Steven Jackson...but he went just before my pick. A little afraid of the two headed monster in NY with Bradshaw and Jacobs, but figure Bradshaw will get the bulk of the carries. Hoping we stuff him in game one (from a Redskins standpoint), but you never know, do you?

TE
Tony Gonzalez (Atl - TE)

Not sure what to make of the whole Cooley/Davis thing.....and, other than a couple guys out there, even a slightly aging Gonzalez is gonna get some balls. He had 70+ catches in 2010....he'll be just fine in their offense.

W/R/T
Mike Tolbert (SD - RB)

Lacking RB's in the draft.....had to reach for a third guy. Went with Tolbert hoping he'll see some numbers.

BN
Kevin Walter (Hou - WR)

Really tried to consider the bye week and it's implications in fantasy. I constantly passed on potentially better players to make sure that I had solid guys on the bench who could step in of my own roster in bye weeks. This avoids filling the voids with bums those weeks. Walter should be another 50+ guy in the Houston offense....even as the 3rd WR. Any scores will be bonus. Last year he had 5 TD's. Not shabby.

BN
Colt McCoy (Cle - QB)

When Brady sits, Colt will hopefully be there for me.

BN
Nate Burleson (Det - WR)

Another 50+ catch guy to step up when needed.

BN
Eddie Royal (Den - WR)

Yet another 50+ catch guy...and, he may be returning punts from what I hear.

BN
Jacoby Jones (Hou - WR)

Not sure what I have here other than another WR with the name J. Jones..that's two of em on one team. Maybe a 50+ guy in Houston....maybe not. Could be returning punts. In any case, all my bench WR's are available to fill in during bye weeks.

BN
Benjamin Watson (Cle - TE)

Bye fill in only. Decent guy, has a few TD's. Not much, but not much else out there.

K
Graham Gano (Was - K)

I know people may laugh at this one, but I'm thinking that if we really do have our share of redzone anemia, he could actually be a great pickup. Frankly, kickers are pretty easy to interchange in fantasy. Worth a shot, I figure.

DEF
Washington (Was - DEF)

Another laugher at the time...but in a league where points allowed isn't gonna hurt you that badly and all the other defensive categories could actually help you (such as fumbles, INT's, sacks....), this may be - if nothing else - an opportunistic defense that excels at those ancillary skills. We certainly demonstrated it during preseason.....and last year as well. We generated a load more turnovers....sadly, we also gave up yards and points. I guess we'll see what happens. Taking a shot here.

Game 1, and Drafting Aaron Rodgers is making me look like a genius right about now :D

My wife told me the same thing when I gloated to her about it, but it's hard to do when your top pick is doing so damn good against a team everyone was expecting to be a contender.

227 Yards, 3TD, 0 INT with 7:00 left in the third? Crazy stuff.

I thought Cobb was gonna get me another 6 on that punt. At least their D has gotten me 11 points.

I am going to regret not playing Nelson tonight, I can tell. :(

41.58 points in one game. I must say, tonight at least, I am happy with my team :D

I shouldn't tell you but you have 2 players who are questionable for Sunday's games.
