Confirmed Signings

Haven't really seen anyone clamoring for him, but reports are coming out now that Bryant McKinnie was near 400 lbs! Maybe we can put him on the Mike Williams plan? LOL

Man, talk about signing EVERYONE:

Karen Guregian
After Moss filed his retirement papers, I'm told the Eagles made an offer. So file that under bad timing.

Well he can always pull his papers back as Brett Favre did twice.

The Eagles will be a good team this year. The secondary was beaten up by Aaron Rodgers and that's why they have made these moves at CB.

I expect that Asante Samuel or Cromartie could be traded for an OL or a combination of pick/player.

Yeah - I'm calling it now. Iggles will NOT succeed with this new lineup. Too many new cogs & no captain. Running around in circles does not a champion make.

Sure, they have to be the favored in the division. But we know all too well what off-season championships lead to...

I'd say there will be too may chiefs and not enough indians. A lot of big egos.

Like others, I see them going down in flames during crunch time.

I don't see that happening but hope it does :)

There is a rumor that Maclin has lymphoma. Terrible break for the kid if true.

McKinnie is a South Beach legend when it comes to partying. $100,000 nights are routine.

That is the word around here in Eagles territory and has been for some time. But again, it is just a rumor. I hope it isn't true.

He is from this area and some of the parties up here in the past have been three and four day affairs. Just watch - he will be bankrupt in five years or less.

Not sure, but he is major trouble for any team.

Eagles might be interested though! :D

Didn't see this anywhere, Carlos has signed a one-year deal with the 49ers.

Can't remember who said it, but one of the beat guys talked to a scout who said nobody in the NFL had 'Los rated above 2nd-tier. Kinda sad, in a way.

Congrats to Carlos on the big pay day.

As stated earlier, the Redskins had no interest in bringing him back - at all.

Was it a big pay day? All I saw was that it was a one year deal - didn't see any of the financials.

I'm being facetious. :)

Carlos did this to himself. He'll try to save face by saying that he offered a one year discount in good faith and this will insure a long term contract. Blah, blah, blah.

Grossman says the Redskins were offering more than one year, but he wanted to "keep his options open."

Translation: I want to see if they draft Andrew Luck.

Even Grossman knows the Redskins are gonna suck for Luck!

WOW, Oakland just gave Michael Huff a 4 year deal worth $8M a year. Al Davis is officially off his rocker.

Man! You're a smart guy and you know a lot about football, but you make some foolish statements sometimes.

Similar to the bet I am willing to make with Ish, I will bet you just about anything the Redskins do not employ Andrew Luck next season! I know you said it with tongue in cheek, but I also believe you believe this is another indication to support your theory of tanking the season.

No no, they are not "tanking" the season. This implies that they are intentionally going to lose games, which they would never do. No, I am saying they are just not going to win a lot of games, despite their best efforts, and end up with a top 5 pick.

About the quarterback next year thing (and this could apply to two or three other threads)...

I doubt that the Redskins will tank the season on purpose for a chance at Luck, Montana, Baugh, Thorpe, or Moe/Larry/Curly. Seriously folks - come on!

What will probably happen...

It is almost certain that we will draft what is preceived to be a franchise QB in 2012. It doesn't matter where we finish this year. If we have a high draft selection, it will come down to moving up just a bit or staying put and draft the QB of choice.

Or...

If we have a lower pick, the FO will move up and still select the QB of choice. It will cost the 1st rd. picks in 2012 and 2013. It will also cost at least a 2nd in 2012 or 2013 and one of the following: Another 2nd. A player currently on the roster. A mid round pick. Or both, maybe all three.

Will it be worth it? Probably so. Will it be Luck? An outside chance. Don't be surprised if it is Landry Jones though.

Time will tell, but this idea of tanking the season will not happen. Of course, it may happen anyway, but not on purpose. Either way, we will get our franchise QB in the next draft - almost 100% guarantee.

Golston re-signs with the Redskins. Off to update my roster prediction, lol.
