Confirmed Signings

BB, thanks for the tireless effort today!

For those wanting Davin Joseph:

Bucs agreed to terms with RG Davin Joseph on a seven-year, $53 million contract including $19 million guaranteed.

Joseph broke the news on Twitter late Thursday, and the St. Petersburg Times confirmed the deal's length and financials. Though opinions across the NFL seem mixed on Joseph, the Bucs know his potential as a mauling run blocker. The cost was hefty for an interior lineman, though. Joseph, 27, will return as the team's starting right guard.

No longer a zone blocker, Joseph is expected to flourish in new line coach Pat Morris' power-blocking scheme.

It's about now things start to go quiet, but as it is only 3.20pm (Friday) here, it looks like I have to spend the rest of the day landscaping.

Will check back later. Excellent job to all involved.

Thanks to all the guys keeping this updated.

Thanks for your input Ryan! I am going to say that we still stand in full agreement that a 4-3 would suit this team better! Though we would have to get more LB's now. Ugh!

While you were asleep - or working outside like Aussie...

All of our draft picks are signed. Did you ever think there would be a day when our beloved Redskins would sign twelve of twelve draft picks in an eighteen hour period of time? Wow! :)

Also...

We signed...

Ty Grant, CB, Delaware
Kyle O'Donnell, LB, Liberty

First practice is this morning - two hours from the time of this post. 8:30am EDT.

As for anything else, stayed tuned is the best advice.

What's on the agenda for today? I know that all free agent contracts can become official, but what else?

Well, it's twenty of nine in New South Whales, so I'd say it's kick back with a brew time for you.

I'm off to work....

I wound up having the day off yesterday due to lack of work at our shop. You, and all the others made my day far better then I could have expected. I'm sure I'll have lots to catch up on tonight.

Have a great day

Cheers !

Twenty of nine? I've never heard the time described like that before! I can always sit back and watch tonight's game of AFL (Carlton v North Melbourne), or I can push tacks in to my eyes. I know which would be more fun!

BTW, I live about 50 minutes SW of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria. Also, it's New South Wales, as in the country, not the fish!

Have a good day Pete.

There could be some moves here or there and a signing or two today, but the real activity is expected to hit a serious pace at 6pm EDT. FA begins in earnest and it could be off to the races.

Thx BB. I'm trying to keep a Collingwood messageboard up to date with any and all major signings, and to have Sav Rocca sign with us has a lot of people jumping on the Redskins bandwagon. They follow the NFL anyway, but a lot started to support the Eagals because Sav was on the team. Hopefully, they'll now cross over to the 'Skins.

If anyone asks, I'll point them in the direction of BGO.

We will welcome them with open arms. Never can have enough fans. :)

I suppose I had better start to fulfil the claim in my sig!

Collingwood has the largest membership base of all AFL teams, which is about 72,000 members. This is partly why our home ground is the 100,000 seat MCG. When we play against another 'top' team, there can be 90,000+ spectators inside the stadium.

Oops, apologies for going off-topic.

I'll check those sites/teams out this weekend.

Here is a video from yesterday's practice session...

My links are nothing to worry about. The MCG link just gives a detailed explanation of the ground, how it was used during the 1956 Olympic Games, and it's use as an army barracks during WWII. If you watched 'The Pacific', the ground they all based their R&R from was supposed to depict the MCG, but in actual fact it was the old home ground of Collingwood, Victoria Park.
