I have had a very relaxing summer of doing what I like to do. It's been nice but I'm ready for more. Tomorrow we head to Newport, Rhode Island with a day in Providence. Pretty excited, we've never been to RI together before. A few weeks later my fishing trip with my best friend at his lake house, my happy place.

I wonder if I'm the only adult person who still hears my mother's voice inside of my head, from when I was a kid.
All my life, in certain situations, my brain will trigger her voice from decades ago.

When I was a kid, whenever my mom would tell me something to do, like a chore or something - for example,
she might say. "Will you take out the trash ?"
I'd say, "Okay...I will". Then go about my business.
Then she'd say, "Do it now, before you forget !!!"

So all my adult life, when I think of something I need to get done, then think "I'll plan to do that later",
then spontaneously without me even trying to think this, or consciously remembering it, I will hear my
mom's voice in my head, "Do it now, before you forget !"
And my mom could be literally 700 miles away and then I'll say to myself "Yes, Mom". Then go and get it done right away.
