2026 Washington Commanders Schedule

We went to the London game against Cincy in 2016. We spent 5 nights in Dublin & 4 nights in London. The game at Wembley was the lowlight of the entire trip. It was a boring game that ended in a tie. Friggin' Hopkins missed a goddamn chip-shot and, after time ran out, everybody was kind of "meh" or "what the actual fuck was that?" It was very disappointing but kind of interesting to see the game from the European perspective. When a time out, FG or penalty was called, they would put up a brief explanation describing what they were ("a FG is an attempt to score by kicking the ball between the uprights for 3-pts" . We were also surprised at how many Brits were into the NFL and have never attended a game with so many different teams jersey's and the crowd was very enthusiastic. I can understand why the NFL wants more of them.

I’m planning a trip to Dublin this summer/fall because I can due to my current circumstances since Ireland is an EU member. The UK is out because they are not. 🤪

Yeah, they would have to do the same for me if I attended a Premier League Game. "The guy flopping on the field like he has just been shot, and will bounce up like nothing happened is an attempt to provide a rest for his teammates, swing momentum or piss off the opposing team."

Paul Pierce-like.

I like the schedule. No messing around. Straight into the toughest away divisional games. We will find out a lot about this team early doors. Eagles and Cowboys will both underestimate us and we will be motivated to put last season firmly in the rear view. I fancy our chances

Tough schedule, but we knew that from the opponents. Rough start to the year, which is where the schedule creation comes in and layers more difficulty, but we’ll know what this squad is shaping up to look like early I guess. Will they get punched in the mouth or do the punching?

One positive, for the first time in what feels like a while we’re top-5 in “rest differential” across the league for the season. Minor edge that can add up especially when it comes to injuries.

We liked Dublin and the surrounding areas a lot more than London. London is a big, filthy city. Interesting fact...if you like Indian food, this is the place to go...we were told that London has the largest Indian population outside of India. That said I enjoy European history and love historical fiction and had just finished reading the last of Neal Stephensons "Baroque Cycle" series where a great deal of the stories centered around London and the surrounding countryside and prominent historical figures like Isaac Newton Christopher Wren. It was really cool visiting the Tower Bridge, Tower of London & St Paul's Cathedral which is where a lot of the stories took place in the series. We did take a day trip to Stonehenge, Bath & Lacock village, (a beautiful llittle town with medieval houses, church & a pub) It's owned by the National Trust and beautiful. We still preferred Ireland and in hindsight, would've gone to London for 3 days to take in the aforementioned sites and the game then spent more time in Ireland. Some folks who went with us spent a couple days in Paris too.

To keep it OT, selfishly, as a STH we loathe those SNF games, especially against the Iggles. A lot of Philthy fans show up and they're fucking ass-holes.

We also have 3 starts at 4:25.

Those aren't prime time, but they're premier slots.

My son and I spent the game jersey spotting, we counted 31 of the 32 teams! I can't remember the missing one, Jets possibly. We were of course wearing Redskins gear.

Is that you, Tom?

The one advantage of playing our divisional foes early is that we will have tape on them and they will not have tape on us. It's not a big advantage, but they will not know our tendencies on offense or defense.

Well, the only 2026 NFCE coordinators that are the same as we saw in 2025 are the Dallas OC and the Eagles DC. So, lots of unknowns, lots of turnover since last year.

A few thoughts on the schedule:

The first half of the season will be tough, but the last half looks relatively easy. Don’t be surprised by a slow start and a strong finish.

The long rest between Thursday night and Monday night is nice. It’s almost an extra bye later in the season.

I cannot believe the NFL gave us all these nationally televised games again after last year. I guess Jayden is good for ratings. Hopefully we don’t embarrass ourselves this time.

First pass, I have us 9-8 with a 2-8 start but a 7 game winning streak to close the year. I could see a few going the other way, maybe as low as 7 wins or as high as 11. I do think we’ll be better than last year.

These things are hard to predict, but there’s not much doubt we are in for a tough start. I will be pleasantly surprised if we can win 5 of our first 10. But if we can get even a couple upsets early on to stay in the hunt, maybe beat the Eagles coming off the bye or the Bengals on the long week, we should be able to make a late-season run.
