One of the things I have hated most about this franchise over the past 30 years is how often we are playing meaningless games by this time of the year.

It is so much more fun and so much more rewarding to watch a football game that means something. Some would argue 'they all mean something', but I don't feel that way. Once a team is eliminated from playoff contention, those remaining games are just necessary and required tasks.

It really sucks. And here we are facing that situation and it's not even yet December.

You could take the bottom 8 teams and have a tournament to determine draft order. Winner gets first pick, runner up gets second, and so on.

I think they were very patient with Forbes. He showed no signs of being able to perform even at the most base expectation level. He looked to have completely lost his confidence and there was no guarantee he would ever recover it. How many times were we to trot him out there only to see the opposing offense absolutely victimize him? And I think it's far from a given that he will ever be anything more than a rotational sub elsewhere.

As crazy as it sounds, if we held on against Miami and Chicago, we'd actually control our own destiny right now. We'd be a half a game behind Dallas with them coming to us late in the season and we'd be 2 games behind Philly with 2 games left against them down the stretch. That's a hard pill to swallow and makes the injuries, Whitt, and gay decisions hurt even more

Think im at the point where I dont expect another team win this year but rooting for individual players and coaches to step up. Hurts to be looking toward next year already but if we can find a few bright spots to cling to that would be nice. O line is relatively healthy, if they can form cohesion and look good then that is a huge plus going in to next year.
