The struggle is real. Yeah, I mean, what can you say - it's not our year on the health front and that's putting it mildly.
 
How much worse would we feel if a lot of fans got their wish with Hendrickson?

When Dan Quinn built his staff... the most criticized move was the hire of Bobby Johnson at O-Line coach. A move that clearly has not been the failure we all were worried it would be.

I wasn't on the board this summer but I can't believe that fans suggested trading anything more than like some 5th round picks for him. McLaurin was a much better bet and half of the fans didn't even want to pay him let alone if we had to trade for him. I don't believe that fans were talking about trading a first for Henderson but again, I wasn't here
 
The good thing for me is that making it to the title game last year was Great and that would have been a cool ride again this year but at the end of the day, you either win the SB or your season was a loss.

Coming into this season, I had high hopes but even in a best case scenario, I think most fans felt that our chance for the SB is next season. Your QB is much more seasoned by then, you will have built the roster up, and coming into this year it looked like we had a gauntlet of a schedule while next season it's not too bad.

You never know how schedules will play out because teams are up and down every year but next season seems far less daunting and oir bad season should turn into better picks/players. If everything goes well, at the very least we should be at least a double digit win team next season if not better

It actually wasn’t necessarily as loud here, as much as it was callers and online posters on social media. The article below lays out that the Bengals expectation was ‘A young defensive starter, and a 2026 First round pick.’

There was a very large contingent of this fanbase that wanted to pull that trigger, AND give him a blockbuster deal.

I guess if you count playing in 5 games and getting hurt in 3 of them as being much more seasoned.

Again, that was my feelings coming into the season. My point was the good thing now is that I didn't expect us to win the SB this year anyways and now we will get better picks. We will be more healthy next year and have a ton of cap space to play with. We may not be as great as last year but we definitely shouldn't be as bad as this year.

Also, I don't believe that you have to play any games to be more seasoned. You are still in the NFL, getting all of that training and learning. Trust me that matters. That's why people get mad in the NBA when a 2nd year player who was hurt in his first season ends up winning rookie of the year because that year of just being in the NBA learning, being with the best trainers, coaches, working out with other pros is a huge advantage

If the win total is in the triple digits next year, I will never ever complain about anything related to this franchise ever again!
 
Ultimately from a "fan's perspective" I just don't know how to feel about the rest of this season. While they still aren't mathetmatically eliminted from a playoff berth (LOLOL I know...) I feel like even if some kind of miraculous turn around happened, the team is not built to beat the quality of teams that will be in the playoffs, so putting all of that aside, I think without Jayden Daniels playing QB and/or the younger players getting significantly more playing time for the rest of the season, what is it exactly I am rooting for right now?

I am not down at all on the future. In fact, I think a good draft, a few good FA acquisitions combined with JD5 & a healthy roster....2026 can be a bounce back season in a huge way. I am so good with the future that it is sort of having me shrug my shoulders at the rest of this season unlike previous seasons where I didn't ever see much hope on the horizon. Back then I hung onto every week as the week we might finally see signs of some change. I already confidently feel the necessary change is here and we just need to give it a few seasons to really be built properly.

Those are the keys to the future. Gotta do something to limit injuries...there has to be something...maybe bring the WWE in on that? Teach guys how to fall?
 
To tell the truth, in a season that is lost, tonight's game to me is the kind of game that gives me more optimism about the near future of this team beyond this season. Quinn calling the defense and getting Terry back made THAT BIG of a difference against a 9-2 trying to establish themselves as the real deal.

For those that are "team tank" they see the team preserve draft position but also show that if healthy and some tweaks....they are coming back in a big way in 2026.

I want to see the guys on rookie deals play well. Seems like Conerly had a good game overall, Sainristil is so much better as an outside zone corner and Magee flashed. Bill also looked the best he has in weeks with his limited snap count. Finally, I didn’t notice Quan involved in any clownishness
 
Will Harris seemed to make a difference.
 
What do you think the Commanders record would be right now with a healthy Daniels playing every game of this schedule despite the other injuries?
