Your example of the Eagles in 2020 and the 2021 draft is not a good one. They parlayed the original #6 pick they had in that draft into a trove of draft capital into an extra first in the 2022 draft. This was their highest pick in the 2022 draft. They had also gotten a first for Wentz from the Colts. They then traded those 2 1sts to the Saints for their first that year (traded for AJ Brown) and a first in 2023 (Jalen Carter) and a bunch of other picks.

The Eagles blatant tanking in that final game also gave them higher picks in rds 2 and 3 in 2021 that they used to draft Landon Dickerson and Milton Williams.
Don't bring facts here. They don't belong. Only keyboard mashing opinion is allowed.

This team has lost its mojo for the season and with only a handful of top draft picks, we need to tank to have a chance at trading down and try and recoup some. This season has proved we are nowhere near the talent that is need to build a sustained winner. TANK for this season please!

So are you comparing Adam Peters to Vinny, Scott McCloughan and Bruce?

I don't think that's fair. Got to give him more than a year and a half. Don't get me wrong though, this upcoming off-season will be huge for AP.

BTW, they've never done a rebuild here. A true rebuild where you clean out most of the vets, acquire as many picks as you can and start drafting as much young talent as you can to build a solid core.
It's always been a mish-mash of a few draft picks and alot of free agents. I'd have a lot more respect/patience if they did a true rebuild.

But as for this fan base, not many have the stomach for that. But IMO, if you want to become a perennial contender, that is the way.

Thank you! Good lord, some of you are unhinged.

We're at the point where, with a straight face, we have folks making statements like 'a later pick isn't necessarily worse than an earlier pick'.

Yes. It is. 1000% of the time. Picking earlier is better than picking later. Just stop. Of course, if you fuck up a draft choice, you fuck up a draft choice. But having access to a broader pool of selection candidates is ALWAYS better. If you decide to trade down for additional picks, it is better to do so with a higher draft pick.

I suspect there are very few fans who actually *root* for a loss, even in a lost season such as this one. But one can realize, even while rooting for the team to play better, that it is probably more beneficial for the cause not to rack up more wins in 2025. It's just plain old fashioned common sense.

And can we stop (as DP suggests above) saddling the current front office and coaching staff with our 30 years of trauma and blame? This group has had one historically successful season, and one bad one. That's it. They deserve to be judged on that basis.

We have now reached the point of message board poster on message board poster violence. 🆘

well since it’s so idiotic, you can definitively describe where this roster is sooo much better. I’ll wait…

First and foremost: Jayden Daniels. Are you kidding?
Laremy Tunsil
Trey Amos and MIke Sanristil, unless you want BSJ or Forbes back? Before you say it, no, Forbes still sucks. So does BSJ. How much money did he give William Jackson?
Dorance Armstrong
Javon Kinlaw, oh we he did draft the great Phil Mathis...IN THE SECOND ROUND! Johnny Newton is far better than that useless waste of a pick, too.
Tyler Biadasz
Jordan Magee and Frankie Luvu...unless you think David Mayo and Cody Barton were better?
Josh Conerly
Jacory Crosky Merrit--unless you want Brian Robinson back? Or maybe Antonio Gibson you is on IR and just fumbled.

Peters came in and overturned 2/3rds of the roster for a reason!! There is a reason 6 draft picks are left here from FOUR YEARS!

And first and foremost: we have no one healthy!
We are literally running out practice squad and street free agents because he have no one.

What you said is insanely idiotic and completely false.

Nerves are raw folks. But let's not devolve into lobbing insults at each other. Fans fan differently. When things are going badly, those differences are a lot more stark. But let's try and respect everyone responds to disappointment differently and try not to be like every other fan site out there :)

Glass half full post.

My glass half empty response:

Sure Jayden is great, but 2-53 we’re no better…

BSJ for Lattimore who is still a walking penalty and routinely gets burnt, oh and he’s been hurt the whole time.

Bill who can’t get on the field the last 2 weeks drafted in the 7th round… there’s not a quality back on the roster. Rodriguez is the best back…

Luvu is a good blitzer, couldn’t cover me. Same with Bobby. Dline still getting gashed, no pass rusher on the team. DA is ok, but he’s hurt…

Yep Tunsil is better, but he and McLaurin are the “best” players. McLaurin was better 2 years ago. There’s not another quality receiver on the team and miss me with Deebo and Ed McCaffrey.

Our best safeties now play in LA and LV respectively.

Johnny Newton, are you serious? He’s a 2nd round backup. Hasn’t made a splash play all year.

Amos looks legit. Sainristil played better last year, he might actually be better outside. I do like him though. I don’t think they use him correctly. Still don’t see him blitz…

Jury still out on the rookie tackle, he’s hanging in there though. Coleman is a 3rd round backup swing. Chris Paul is a Rivera guy. He starts at LG. Biadicz is a push from the Rivera regime. Great at making soup!

Last years’ roster was better, but this year it’s old and injured and still has NO PLAYMAKERS!

Oh and we traded away tons of picks to do it. A bunch for Tunsil, 3/4 for Lattimore, 5 for Deebo.

All for a 3-8 record and done by November 1st.

In the words of the great Bill Parcells “you are what your record says you are…”

2-53? You're just being willfully obtuse.

BSJ can't get on the field in LA. He has a handful more snaps than Jordan Magee.
Bill is a 7th round rookie who has already surpassed Antonio Gibson's production from 2023, and already close to his production in all of 2024.
Luvu, Wagner, and Magee are still better than Cody Barton and David Mayo. They couldn't do anything, at all. Hell Medrano is probably better than those goons.
Maybe get Luke McCaffery's name right? He's an outstanding kick returner. Or maybe you miss the great Byron Pringle returning kicks? Oh wait, he hasn't been on a roster since 2023.
Deebo Samuel, without anyone else on the roster, is still better than Curtis Samuel, Jameson Crowder, or Jahan Dotson. The other non-McClaurin receivers in 2023.
Johnny Newton is on the roster, started yesterday, has 2 sacks on the year. He's played in more games, had 1 fewer tackle, and produced 2 more sacks in a less than 2 years, than Mathis did in 4 years. Mathis was on Buffalo's practice squad, last I checked. So yeah, good call there, really proved me wrong.
Biadasz is a push? Our starting center in 2023 was Nick Gates. Are you...wait, never mind. We know the answer to that.

AND that 2023 year was largely healthy. This team has 7 wins, at least, if we aren't by far the most injured team in the league. Stop this dumbass ranting and admit you're wrong. I am happy to continue to prove you have no idea what you're talking about if you like.

“you are what your record says you are…” You're absolutely right, and your record is 0-fer...what does that tell you?

We also won 12 games last year--did you forget that? Something Rivera can only wonder about as he tries to figure out if we've been eliminated or not.

If you spoke in all caps you may be more convincing…

But nothing you state proves or convinces me this roster is better than the 2023 roster. I could argue Jayden takes that 2023 roster to the playoffs.

And last years’ roster is just that, last year. But scream away, it’s rather entertaining…

No one is screaming. Feel free to point out who, exactly, is better on that roster than now. Curl? Ok maybe, Martin is godawful. Chinn? Hardly a comparison because his replacement got hurt. Luvu was an All Pro last year, as was Wagner. Terry too--he had those before too. Last year happened whether you want to dismiss it or not to continue your completely unhinged rant.

Go ahead. Say something actually meaningful instead of these uninformed, idiotic rants that would make even Lynell Willingham blush. If you're even capable of it.

I did but since it doesn’t agree with your thoughts youve resulted to name calling. I don’t get down with that.

The point is that our current roster or any roster we’ve assembled in the last 5 years is a bottom of the league roster talent wise. Sure you could pick a player here or there, but they stink overall.

Yeah Curl and Chinn are better than current. Amos and Sainristil better than BSJ and Forbes. Payne, Allen, Sweat, Young from 3 years ago better than Kinlaw and Payne, and DA.

The force multiplier is Jayden.

Philly has a roster, Detroit has elite offensive talent. Seattle has a championship caliber defense. Look around the league and you’ll see elite rosters.

We didn’t field an elite roster in September, it was average at best. As we’ve been for 20 years…

Personally, I’m giving AP a bit of a pass on the roster. An “incomplete” as it were, particularly as we put out a phenomenal season and a horrendous one.

A big part of it is the injuries. How much is Terry’s absence affecting how defenses play us? Might Ertz, Deebo, Lane, Sinnott, McCaffrey or Bill look more productive with Terry on the field? Would Conerly look better if a healthy receiving corps meant the qbs were better able to get the ball out quickly? Would healthy receivers help our run game and pass pro? Would Daniels have missed fewer games? Would Wise, Jean-Baptiste and Harris have made an impact on D? Would Armstrong have made a difference vs the Dolphins? Hard to know given the synergy of all positions and units.

I’d guess the general consensus here is that defensive coaching has been a big problem. There’s a decent chance that Whitt’s scheme/play calling has lead to a number of players struggling - Sainristil, Newton, Kinlaw, McGee, Lattimore, Luvu and Wagner (catching flak for being asked to do things outside of his capabilities), etc.

Of course there are also very reasonable concerns on the other side of the ledger - trading away picks, going light in FA, a number of draft picks looking questionable, etc.

Bottom line: AP deserves time, just in terms of GM’s being afforded time to put their stamp on a team. Coming off a 12 win season that followed a terrible 2023 season should give him a lot more leeway. Sucks that we’re so short on draft picks, but we’ve got a lot of cap space, so hopefully the roster takes a big step forward. Here’s hoping some of the things that can affect the perception of personnel additions (like injuries and poor coaching) improve going into next year.

What does what Seattle, Detroit, Philly are doing have anything to do with what you said that the roster 2-53 was better under Rivera? Stick to the subject.

You've said absolutely nothing that is accurate, next to maybe Curl. That DL was a wild disappointment. They had that one good year, Payne got wildly overpaid, and will probably be cut or traded this offseason. They smartly unloaded both Young and Sweat. Also, the only one acquired under Rivera was Young, who was an Arrington-level bust. How many of our great former players are actually out there producing anything?

I don't care if "you don't get down with that." Say stupid shit, win stupid prizes.

Kind of my question here too. Our pass defense looked WAY better against Miami than they have all season. Granted Miami sucks, and Achane still gashed us, but the tackling, flow, energy was far better. I give the offense a pass because Kingsbury did a great job last year, and we have a preseason roster running out there right now. But Whitt was never good, even before the rash of injuries hit. His fate is really sealed.

AP needs to have a 2024 free agency class. There are some good options available. And without the draft capital right now, they need to be more aggressive in free agency.

Ok grandpa, where’s the data from THIS YEAR!?

Kinlaw is exactly who the media thought he was, inconsistent. We’re league low in turnovers, historically bad on defense. Where are all great players you’re arguing for?

Bobby and Luvu are so bad in coverage teams are running simple digs, crosses, and seams. Wide open all game.

Who has “produced” this year. Green Bay undressed us. Dallas too. We thought we won a Cracker Jack prize beating the Chargers, turns out they stink.

Receivers can’t get open, Ertz can’t run. The backups are terrible. Sinnott still cant crack the starting lineup. Bates can block.

You’re yelling and name calling, but what data do you have? So far I’m an F-18 to your crop duster perspective. But you swear you’re flying…

I just got done saying make your case without the insults. We can make sure folks do that if you really want us to go there. Argue energetically but knock off the insults.
