That's why I have been questioning Luke's lack of involvement especially, with the other receivers injured. I totally get it if he is blanket covered but I'd like to hear if that was indeed the case. It is really a simple question that has received negative feedback from some posters saying expectations are too high. Are they too high if he is consistently open and has higher separation ratings than other receivers getting more looks?
The article also offers great hope regarding Luke moving forward. With he and Lane evolving we should be good with WR3 and WR4. That could allow us to bring in another WR1 to match with Terry as well as another WR3/4/5 type for competition.

It actually bothers me a little how Chosen and Moore are now our "number 1" and "number 2" receivers. I don't think either have ever been amazing and actually Luke has been here longer. I get that Luke may be less consistent and that some coaches really value vets, but Luke has flashed nicely on special teams and has shown good hands when targeted.
I'd like him to get more opportunities. Going forward, it's important to know if he would sink or swim. A lot more important than it is for Chosen or Moore anyway.

I’ve got to believe Luke isn’t showing remotely enough to take on either the 1 or 2 spot. There’s no allegiance to Chosen or Moore. I’m sure they would prefer Luke surpass these guys.
On one of his recent podcasts, Keim mentioned that there are definite tells when we have certain personnel on the field, which lends some credence to the predictability argument. Cliff ain't Scott, thank God, but I do feel like the veteran coordinators gave a good read on his offense. I think the offense might function much better when he moves on to his next HC gig. This isn't an "I hate Kliff" post, just some random thoughts.
That is definitely encouraging about Luke. As for Kliff it was pretty well know that his offenses have been knowing for starting out great and then they get figured out. This has always been my concern here.

Isn’t McCaffrey still mostly playing slot? I imagine the Moore/Anderson type scrubs are starting outside because they don’t see Luke as the best fit for that role.

I feel like Kliff shed that stigma of falling off later in the season in partnership with Jayden last year. Also hard to not have some level of personnel predictability down so many vital parts.

I think his predictability is moreso in a lot of situational decisions (down and distance) plus formations. There are a lot of repeated decisions given specifc circumstances in the game.
There are a really annoying one is he raises his predilection to run multiple times in a row significantly late in games regardless of situation. So we seem to score TDs a lot.
Btw: recently heard Demeco Ryans commenting that QB under center is very hard to tell run v pass. There is a lot of predictability in Kliff rjght now with no easy fixes I can see.

You know the old football philosophy, "Do it until they stop it."? Well, I think that's what happened to us against the Cowboys. Bills first two runs were great runs. So, they kept calling the same run play over and over again. Problem was, by the third time, the Cowboys had caught on and they did stop it so it was incumbant on Kliff to do something else.
It took him way too long to change it up.

One thing I noted when he came in is that Brandon Coleman did pretty well. Despite all the predraft projections, I think he's a tackle and not a guard.
Maybe he only projects to a good tackle and not a franchise one, but from the eyeball test he more than held his own and may have had a better game than Connerly.

He was one of the highest graded players on offense by PFF. Keim alluded to them shelving him as a tackle due to his inability to stay healthy. Easier to plug in a guard vs a tackle

Wait what? He was healthy last season. Played 100% of the snaps in all 3 playoff games too. Feel like Keim goofed and is talking about someone else or made a mistake there.
I mean, he does have the prototypical Tackle body-type. 34-5/8" arm length. 84" wingspan. 10-3/4" hand size. All of those are like 75% or better for Tackle. His athletic testing was in the 90+% range too. His body has better prototypical Tackle measurements than Laremy Tunsil or Trent Williams. He's got great tools to work with.
For reference, Josh Conerly might have slightly sub-par tools to work with (besides his fluid athleticism which is a big plus). But the 2025 combine was heavily criticized for messing up the measurements for all of the OL. The Senior Bowl gave Conerly longer arms than the Combine did. So who knows. His wingspan isn't the best either. If we average Conerly's measurements, then his arm length is 33.75". There have been Tackles that still excelled at that. Joe Thomas was around there (he had another combine measurement error but later measurements came back better).
Conerly could still work out just fine. But moving Coleman off of Guard when his rookie year was good (for rookie standards) and had such good measurements always rubbed me the wrong way. Conerly at least has much lighter feet than Coleman.

I think it was Hogs Have who out together this article last year highlighting how good Coleman was for a rookie. That made the Conerly pick a surprise for me. Rookie pains are definitely expected for rookie tackles but Conerly is going to have to really hit next year for this to make sense
The most popular fan pick was Ezeiruaku who despite having just one sack is having a very good rookie season if you use PFF grade (74) and has 17 pressures this year
Yeah I'm sure a lot of us noticed this. This was my thought when he was benched at guard, he's make a good backup LT. He has certainly played better than Trent Scott or I would think Wylie at LT.

Conerly was Suter’s lowest graded player once again. Struggles with stunts, which is understandable as a rookie but Suter questions his athleticism and will struggle against good speed rushers longer term. Also struggles in run blocking in space
