Official Game Thread - Week 6 MNF - Bears @ Commanders

So far, he's cost the team his effort, which has always been in high demand. Prior to this pre-season, he was a very dedicated WR, hadn't heard nary a bad word.
True, his agent is an idiot. But he made the decision to not work out or practice with the team in camps.
Now we're stuck with that price tag. I ain't happy, cuz he ain't gonna come back better, he'll be a shell of what we paid for.

Well deserved for Bill Nye, the Football Guy- Merritt!! I hope we're just getting a taste of things to come!! Hail!!
 
Feels like the sloppy-field forecast for Monday night makes it less likely we'll see the ridiculously-brittle Noah Brown against the Bears, especially with his limited practice status. Kind of annoying that with Brown hurt again (!) the team didn't do more to shore up the WR room, even though McLaurin was holding out. I didn't consider the Gallup signing as anything more than a lottery ticket, and they've done nothing since except sign perennial practice squad types. Tyler Boyd, for example, is a physical receiver with good hands who's still available; I know it sounds like he would really rather play for his hometown Steelers, but if we offered enough, wouldn't he 'settle' for playing with JD5 in one of the best offenses in the league?

Little concerning to see Rodriguez as a practice DNP, would really like to see our RB squad at full strength against the Bears' bottom-ranked run defense. Ditto with Bates, I thought he was expected to play this week but it looks like he's not doing much practice-wise either this week.

Probably would have elevated Tee Martin and just stuck him on the active roster for now, instead of continuing to move him up and down for a month. Also, I'm not sure this is only a 4 week thing. And since this is the last week they can bring him up and send him back, if Terry isn't back, they might have to cut somebody else to elevate him next week.

The general thought is, if you know a guy is out for 4 weeks, just IR him and give yourself the flexibility to use that roster spot however you want to.

It's not a huge deal. But it's not great roster management either.

We're running the ball at a pretty good clip at the moment.

This would make more sense with the EB "throw, throw, and then throw again" era.

Kliff will run it. But he'll also pass it.

As long as they stay unpredictable, I don't care what mix they have.

Are you sure about the forecast? I don't live in the area anymore but when I googled, it just said mostly cooo and windy. I really don't want any rain for this game
 
First year ref Alex Moore and his crew will officiate the game. They have called the most penalties in the NFL this year by a good margin. We are a superior team to the Bears in every way but this is the kind of stuff that can neutralize the game. I don't want us having big plays called back due to ticky tack flags or drives being killed/stalled by them. I don't want to see Caleb throwing bad, uncatchable passes just to be bailed out by some bogus interference call
 
I’d say that a wet field may benefit a running team more than the team that has a hard time defending the run. But, a wet field could neutralize the running style of Jayden and JCM, to some degree. We aren’t a heavy, big RB, ground and pound kind of team. Bill relies on quick cuts and explosive lateral movement and Jayden also has quicks.

Hopefully they keep the field covered and it isn’t that soaked.

I will say, that a short passing game could be very beneficial. I could see Deebo beating the hell out of a secondary on that kind of field.

I personally think he wont play more than 2-3 games the rest of this season and will use this as a reason to not play so as to punish the team for his contract fight. I hope to hell they trade him in the off season, or at the trade deadline this season . Hell personally I would have never given him the extension. Last season he had already lost a step and was not able to score TDs on long receptions, and this "injury" occurred where he should have never be caught from behind .

As one of the cooks at the tailgate, I check the weather obsessively. Right now it looks like a little rain in the morning, but will clear out for the tailgate and the game.
I'm still going to prep for foul weather..Cajun shrimp & chicarrones..so no cooking for me until the post-tailgate victory dogs. Makes for an easier tailgate with more grazing, (we have some amazing food) and more quality drinking time! :p

Our WR room is fine. Better than fine. If there was any other team with two of their top 3 WR missing 3 games.....

This is the sort of thing that can technically work in our favor as well. I can tell you right now that these refs will respond much better dealing with Jayden/Quinn than Caleb/Ben Johnson. Those guys are whiny pricks at times and refs hate that shit. A reality of the game is that the best thing a franchise QB can do in regards to the refs is become their buds over the years. Jayden is built that way, he’ll become the type of guy who gets the benefit of the doubt like a Brady or Peyton.

Full disclosure: I get them at the local Latin market. They're freshly made every day and still warm when I buy them. They're crunch & tender. The guy cuts them up for me in bite-sized chunks. I eat a couple before I'm off the lot!

Y'all crack me up! I'm in the most Latino part of ATL. Everything is everywhere, except American food. I worked in a great Mexican cafe for 10 years, my boss and I would love to get the band back together. Friday night special was Filet Fajitas, the best chimichurri sauce you've ever imagined (it was made with our signature Sangria, that I made by hand as I was head bartender.)

Mrs. Skinsfan, aka the world's pickiest eater, doesn't like Mexican food at all, so don't eat it as often as I'd like.
