Official Game Thread - Week 6 MNF - Bears @ Commanders

I'm somewhat surprised Terry didn't go to IR, especially if he isn't practicing and misses this game. It would be very discouraging if they put him on IR now. But hindsight being 20/20, it looks like he's going to miss the 4 game minimum, so they probably should have IRed him right after the game when he got hurt.

We are going to roll Da Bears.. and it wont be close .. esp if Klfsibury can finally commit to JCM as the main back.. not sure why its so difficult
There are a few reasons why he didn't see more carries earlier on in the season:

  1. He didn't play at all last year, and they wanted to make sure he got enough practice reps to make sure he was back to what he was prior to sitting out last year with eligibility concerns.
  2. You don't often want to put a starting load and pressure on a 7th round rookie. You want to work him into the mix slowly
  3. Even now, they are cautious about using him when he isn't getting the ball. He's not great at protection or route running. But he's getting better. You do not want a blown assignment from your RB to cause a massive hit on your QB.

I think they're still going to rotate backs, but JCM will probably see the most number of carries. He's doing really well with 15 or so carries a game, so there's no reason to really change that up

Also, both CRod and McNichols have produced when they've been in, so there is no real reason to wear out Bill.

Terry doing light work or a little less than light work on the side. I feel like no one would care because most didn't expect him back until next week at the earliest but DQ got everyone's hopes up by saying that he was optimistic about him playing this week, unnecessarily playing with people's emotions.. Lol

All in all, you expect for guys like Luke and Lane to play better at home anyways and our run game should be able to have them on their heels so I would expect to see Daniels still play well and hopefully Terry can return next week when Ceedee also possibly returns in what could be one of the biggest Cowboys-Skins games in decades. Very rarely have we both been good and exciting at the same time so I am actually low key rooting for Dallas to win at Carolina because Dallas week will be the craziest it's been in forever

I mean, I care because they clearly should’ve put him on IR for at least the 4-week minimum, and with how injured we are that roster spot has value, even more than usual. As long as he’s running hot and ready as we approach the playoffs we’ll likely be okay but it’s not a happy thought to be conceding the idea that he could miss that much of the season after everything that happened. This seems like it could nag on and on if he tries to rush back. We don’t need him back week 7 only to tweak it and be out the rest of the year. That’s the nightmare scenario

There is one thing that people never talk about in these IR situations but it made sense when I heard a Bucs fan say it. If you are on IR then you can't practice with the team. He wouldn't be allowed to practice until after the Chiefs game which means that he might have to miss the following week or 2 while he gets up to speed. At least this way he can still be there, possibly practice next week and play against the Chiefs, or at least be ready for the week after, hopefully

Had no idea that Mikey had won that many but great to see that we are having some solid rookie play from all different points of the draft. I expect Amos to be on that list by the end of the season
Maybe Connerly also with his improved play but I am guessing that offensive lineman never win it

My bad. I thought it said that Mikey had 11 also which seemed crazy to me but I haven't figured out how to edit post on here yet

Can't help but think that Chicago has had this game circled since the schedule came out.

At the bottom of every post there is a menu bar with 5 options, one of which is edit.

Perhaps, it’s a pain thing with Terry, and the team believed he would be able to play thru it by now.

It’s the only theory I can conjure up for not putting him on IR.

Just heard Doug K on NBC4 refer to both Sunday and Monday as washouts in the DC area. That turf is likely to be a disaster. Maybe not an awful idea to have him not play.

^^^ Well, in that case...
A good pounding on the ground will be necessary, but we may need some air time too.

Our game here was earlier in the season than usual, and it was north of 80 2 weeks ago, so the roof on the Benz was closed. Weather and field conditions play a huge role, let's just hope we get the advantage early being able to handle whatever.

Meh, what does Doug Kamererer know, anyway.

He hasn't practiced anyway. You can do some side-work as you come back from IR, I believe, but you can't actually participate in the main practice.

I thought (and might have posted? Not sure) they should have IRed him the second he was talking about getting second opinions. To me, if you're getting second opinions on a quad injury, it's likely a 4 week thing. Just IR him and move on with life.

I have no idea if this quad injury is related to his hold-in, most likely it isn't, but man, it's not a good look for my guy.

I’m to the point now if TM can help us win great, if not F off and you’ll be remembered forever as just another greedy player that sabotaged themselves.

Imo it was the way he fell on his final catch. The irony is that everyone thinks that he scored because he fell on the defender but at the same time I feel like he got hurt because he fell on the defender. If he would have fell flat then he would have been ok but falling on the DB caused the thigh injury and everything to bend, hyperextend his groin, and abdomen.

I don't think that the injury itself was necessarily caused by the holdout but I do feel like he wouldn't have been injured if he didn't hold out because he wouldn't have let the guy catch him or he wouldn't have fell as awkwardly. He looked slow and not up to game speed while trying to get caught up to everyone else

I never root for Dallas…ever! Unless it affects our standings and the Carolina game is not even close.

I'm getting very, very irritated they didn't put Terry on IR.

It's good to see Noah Brown doing something. If they could figure out a way not to have to elevate Tee Martin from the PS for this game, that would be good. It would be the third game he would be elevated. Per the rules, you can elevate a player 3 times, and the 4th time you must put them on your 53 man roster.

Also, when healthy, Noah Brown is better than Tee Martin and Chris Moore who dropped the TD pass.

I've given up expecting McLaurin to do anything for the first half of this season. So if they could get Noah Brown back out there to take some of the snaps which Moore and Martin are taking, that would be an upgrade.

I feel exactly this way about McLaurin. Let him get right and play the back half of the season and help with the playoff push.

I’m not sure I think the IR thing is that big of a deal. Who were we going to use the extra roster spot for that was really going to elevate us? The back half of our offensive depth sucks. There’s not a WR, TE, or RB that would have helped us win another game. Ditto DE, DT, LB, S, CB. Our best player that hasn’t been active is Coleman. Would he have made a difference?

I understand that sometimes it’s the principal of the thing. But they were probably just taking the medical team’s advice
