AJ Brown scares me, Terry McLaurin does not. I’m not so sure that DCs need to game plan to take Terry away. They may, I’m just not so sure of it.
What changed with Terry’s performance is that Daniels is good enough to make defenses pay when Terry wins, and give him higher percentage throws that he can win on.
Folks might have thought I was either joking or being idiotic, but if McLaurin's camp keeps up the 'I'm a top 5 receiver' BS then the team should look to trade him - give his agent the chance to shop his client for a new contract with another team. I think that might level set expectations.
If he can garner appropriate compensation in a proposed deal and someone is willing to meet his price, then we use those pick/picks to acquire a WR to come in and join our group for 2025 and beyond.
The worst thing is paralysis where the player and the team get to the point where initial positive vibes and compliments turn into mutual recriminations and a big distraction.
While I think Terry on the team in the opener is better for Jayden than having to work a new WR in, McLaurin holding out or staying on PUP would be a major distraction that then turns into a negative for the club overall.
Terry is a bit spoiled. He signed a contract in 2022 for 3 years that paid him a top 5 salary despite generally not being considered a top 5 player at the position. He received 75% guaranteed money in the deal and $28M bonus.
So, this is how the baby shark started eating, he started eating well. Now he wants to do so again in much the same position at 30 instead of 27, a good player with good numbers but not someone you put in your top performers at position category.
And for Terry himself.Very rude awakening (and a badly needed one) for this fool representing McLaurin
I doubt Terry is pocket watching. Seems more like he trusts the guy who got him the bag last time. Except this time, dude set him up to get his feelings hurt. And for Terry himself.
Sure. But it is likely a rude awakening for Terry too that his agent is wrong and now he has to deal with that.I doubt Terry is pocket watching. Seems more like he trusts the guy who got him the bag last time. Except this time, dude set him up to get his feelings hurt.
And they're dealing with a real FO this timeI doubt Terry is pocket watching. Seems more like he trusts the guy who got him the bag last time. Except this time, dude set him up to get his feelings hurt.
