Oh, by the time they announced it, Ted and Glenn Youngkin thought they had the deal. The problem was they didn’t. It was just bad governing. This is not a political statement. It’s just the governor did not get the legislature on board with the plan and he thought he had the votes and he didn’t. Which was an oops.VERY true.
I personally think that presser was about leverage (which Leonsis got where DC agreed to pony up) and i for some reason don't think this is the same. That said, I'm 100% not involved and going on gut instinct so who the hell knows.
My hope is the mayor and Harris know not to make that mistake. They need to make sure nobody is going to nuke the deal before they announce it. Harris had a ring side seat to the Ted debacle so I’m sure it’s fresh in his mind.
