I personally think that presser was about leverage (which Leonsis got where DC agreed to pony up) and i for some reason don't think this is the same. That said, I'm 100% not involved and going on gut instinct so who the hell knows.

Oh, by the time they announced it, Ted and Glenn Youngkin thought they had the deal. The problem was they didn’t. It was just bad governing. This is not a political statement. It’s just the governor did not get the legislature on board with the plan and he thought he had the votes and he didn’t. Which was an oops.

My hope is the mayor and Harris know not to make that mistake. They need to make sure nobody is going to nuke the deal before they announce it. Harris had a ring side seat to the Ted debacle so I’m sure it’s fresh in his mind.

Not to be a debbie downer but I could care less if the stadium is back in DC, just build a new state of the art facility somewhere in the area with easier access. I get the lore and love for the old RK site (my first games were there) I get the nostalgia but until ground breaks, I'll hold my breath. Luckily having 3 teams in FL, I get to see a game almost every year anyway. I'm sure for local fans this is a big deal and I'm sure my posture and attitude on this would be different if I lived there but I've been out of the area since 96.

This seems kinda odd to be saying but… isn’t $3 billion for a stadium on the cheaper side? I thought the Bills new stadium is in the $5-6 billion range.

It's a good question. They can't do the conveyor belt thing like Arizona, assume due to limit of real estate, however, makes you wonder with a transparent roof for natural light, could you do turf with irrigation and drainage? Then, as I type this, with it needing to host so many more types of events, probably will be artificial as it would be too hard to protect the grass given concerts and what not.

You’re not gonna get a better deal out of a billionaire than that. Harris doing his absolute best to ride the line between being unethically wealthy enough to save our franchise but still be as likable as a billionaire can realistically be. Best case scenario for the fanbase bc as we know, hating your owner sucks

unless they are able to 'remove' the playing surface for those other events.

Whether that means wheeling it out, or even having some sort of option to 'drop' it below a solid surface may be a part of the equation.

I ultimately think they'll go to some alternative grass situation, but there is a blank canvas here to try and get the best of both worlds.
