The 2025 Draft Thread

Yeah, the only one I would quibble with is the linebacker, but he is an athletic freak and let's be honest... he's a sixth rounder.
 
Seeing how these guys draft 2 years in a row and how they seem to pick players in the right spot, it's kinda of amazing how bad Riverboat Ron was at drafting players. I mean, you could pick a random fan from this board and they would 9 times out of 10 beat whatever garbage Rivera was reaching for.

I might not agree 100% with who they pick all the time but I can't legitimately question any of the picks either.

I don’t recall people really mentioning it as a need, but we could use LB help. Wagner and Luvu are beastly, but Wagner is old, and what do we have after that? Jordan Magee I guess is good but is there any depth there?

Now I know nothing about the guy we drafted except that he was the fastest LB at the combine and converted from WR, but a speedy LB fits. Adam Peters never picks the guy I would have thought, but his picks always make sense to me.

I think that's it. I think it was (in their mind) the BPA and even though I ascribe to that especially in later rounds it's hard not to feel like we were missing an opportunity in an area of need, but he'll probably work out. With his physical traits, he ought to be great at special teams if nothing else.
 
Maybe Jacory was a steal because of being ineligible last year?

Apparently his nickname is Bill. That would be easier for me to remember than Jacory Croskey-Merritt. If not Bill, then maybe JCM.

They put a lot of work in on a lot of different edges. I think my assumption would be that the draft fell in such a way that edge didn’t work out.
 
The patience of drafting this year was impressive. Edge was the top of their list, but at 29 the OT we took was definitely BPA.

The Amos selection was really impressive. Last chance to grab an edge, but Amos was rated higher.

I'd have been really happy with Amos at 29 honestly.

The best thing that I'm going to take away from this draft is just how comfortable this FO is drafting at the back. We're built to keep winning.
