The 2025 Draft Thread

Those who want Fitzgerald, we have to wait until after the draft and then hope AP give him $$$
 
Given we were connected to this guy, it makes me wonder if they like him a lot more than consensus but knew he’d be here and didn’t actually “miss” on RB earlier when there were multiple runs on the position…but who knows
 
Finally took a running back, don’t know how much to expect from what must be the 50th back taken. Kiper seems to like him fwiw. It certainly can’t hurt to have some more competition at the position.
 
What kind of juice does this guy bring compared to the others in the rb room? Genuine question as I’m not at all familiar with him besides being mentioned here. What can we expect him to bring to the table? Is playing only 1 game last year concerning or not a big deal?

That ran through my mind as the draft was unfolding.

I posted about an hour ago of categorizing RBs and for Crosky-Merritt the category was -- fans might shake their head but learn to dig it after time.

He had a weird ride. He was uneligible to play last season after his first game. Before that played for New Mexico. He has a weird last name, too.

5th rounder in Brugler's draft guide.

Best vertical in this group. 4.45 speed with good size. Killed it in the shrine bowl.

Overview
Eligibility issues sidelined Croskey-Merritt for all but one game in 2024, but his skills were on full display at the East-West Shrine Bowl in January. He’s a quick processor with adequate size and impressive cut quickness to find yards in a crowded workspace. He has one-cut talent and the ability to break runs sharply across the grain when necessary. He finishes runs with purpose, too. He’ll be a 24-year-old rookie with below-average third-down value, but his talent and creativity pop quickly on tape and give him a chance to become a good RB2 at the next level.

Sounds like a possible steal. Why was he ineligible?

Whose depth spot do we think he takes? Or do we think he plays more as a special teamer this year? It’s clear this team wanted to upgrade special teams in a big way. Seem to have gotten a really good returner with potential to be an offensive weapon and then Medrano seems to be the guy to take over for Bellore. And with how the rb room is now I can see this guys fastest way to the field will be special teams route? I mean Izzo was sitting in front of the main brass all day today so who knows haha

Long story, Arizona thought he should be. Played one game then it was overruled by the league and he had to sit out.

I watched as much as I can find of him. Wasn't easy. He didn't have that many clips so i had to sit threw some New Mexico games on rewatch.

But he was a superstar with them. Among other things, he has breakaway speed, he can take it to the house unlike some of the backs we got.

He took plenty of his runs in between the tackles so I think he fits the RO-RPO system.

He should overtake Robinson but will see.
