Dylan Fairchild, Tate Radlidge's counter part guard at Georgia, I don't like as much as Tate. But he has some of Tate's attributes, can anchor, and has a mean streak-people driver. And he plays LG which would be a good fit. Solid 4th round type pick IMO.
Yeah it was definitely day 3. The first day I was upset about the Forbes over Gonzalez pick and got made fun about it on the board. I recall saying I'll have a stroke if they don't take Gonzalez when he was falling to our pick. But the 2nd day where they took Quan Martin who was on my guys list for that draft perked me up a little. But day 3 was the kicker, it showed lack of imagination and how canned that draft was where they were locked into a position in every round. Keim called every position right for every round except for the 7th round.

I will take that bet. I’ll bet you an unlabeled aluminum can no more then 2 QBs are taken in the top 15 and no more than 4 in the entire first round.
The unlabeled aluminum can is reference to “After Midnight” with my current favorite comedian Taylor Tomlinson. She has C or D list celebrities on and they play these random quiz games for a prize. And the prize is always something completely inane and useless. One was an unlabeled aluminum can. Another was a copy of the fire exit plan from her last hotel. It’s brilliant. Everybody should go watch After Midnight for complete mindless fun.

They were so frustrating and made so many shitty decisions. I can no longer take it when anyone says anything positive about the regime, even if it is just - oh Ron is a nice guy. I can't take any of the excuses, they all sucked sooooo bad.I remember when we signed him, one of the long time BGO guys was like "as if anyone has ever heard of him" and the ole ESers were like "Um actually!"
Great back up with a ton of starts, but gets injured, but he's start level.
My favorite fun fact about him. His first game played he came off the bench to play us. His first start the following year? Against us.
I learned a ton about the brothers when I was screaming at RonMart to draft Nick instead of Stromboli and Daniels the T-rex (which I don't call him because he had the shortest arms at the combine, but because he tanked the Wunderlich)
I love that you, Sip, myself we kind of RonMart apologists until day 3 of that draft. So stupid.
yes it was hard to study the draft, understand the team needs, know who were the best fits and then the first round selections were poor decisions. We should have had Darrisaw, Hamilton, JOK, Gonzalez etc... just imagine this team with those players instead of the chumps we got on the roster. What an awful time

How many remember Rivera saying IF Forbes was available he was going to take him? He did just that. I don't hate him but I sure am glad AP and DQ are at the helm at this time.

Listening now to Jeremy Greene on Take Command. As was mentioned here by someone else, Greene swears by him. He agrees he's arrogant but doesn't think he's a bad dude. Hopefully he's right.

He’s not quite Von Miller but he’s got that kind of ability to turn the corner and get home on the quarterback. More of a one-dimensional player at this point in his career. Not heavy enough to play the run. He’s a leaky tackler who falls off too often. He had top-5 buzz coming off 2023 (10 sacks) and then with more attention focused on him he disappeared in some games.” Finished with 71 tackles (30 for loss), 19 ½ sacks and two passes defensed in 39 games, including 12 starts. “Pearce belongs with the top three but the mental part, the personality part is what I would say pushes him down,” a fourth scout said. “You knew at the combine he would put on that show, and he did. He did not disappoint. He probably goes after Williams, Carter and Stewart. But it will probably be to a successful team that will feel like they can take him on. At Tennessee, he was literally a no-go. You ask somebody there: ‘Hey, if you had a chance to come to the league, would you bring this guy?’ They’re, like, ‘Absolutely not.’ On his own program. The whole team’s working out and he’s in his apartment. He’s got twitch, can get off the ball, got production. Some scouts are worried about the guy. I was at a game and the guy was just a complete Lone Ranger. I didn’t realize what a highly touted recruit he was. And he’s been productive. Could he be a target at 61?
There are so many good players returning from injury or not available for a while due to injury. Some feel riskier picks than others and for them, their draft status is definitely affected.
I know some GMs don't like taking players that will not be available right away or at least before camp. Do we know if AP is willing to take a player returning from injury? I can't recall when Coleman was injured and wasn't McGee injured in camp?
There are a few players that I'd be keeping an eye to see if they drop into our lap.

Absolutely if they don't hit Edge earlier. I would bet they have him ranked much higher than 61
Felt like they want to be funky just to be funky and it blew up in their face. Hey you draft media (especially PFF) thinks that Forbes would be the first ever to succeed at corner at that size. Gonzalez you say is a freak. Well, we will show you we will prove that Forbes is it. Dare to be different. Heck Fred Smoot thinks that dude is the next Darrell Green so we aren't alone on this
Kyle Hamilton you guys all say is a top 5 pick who is falling. Yawn. Heck our D coordinator doesn't even think much of him at all as a player let alone being a stud. Darrisaw at LT, premium position. Yawn. Heck we even dumped Morgan Moses. O line, will just work out no matter who we put out there. Most say if its LB at that spot take JOK. Yawn. We will take that raw LB from Kentucky that most say is a 2nd rounder but heck DJ says he's a stud. Another "outside the box" pick.
Yeah Dotson is small. Yeah just about everyone rates him in the 2nd round. But look he carries his football everywhere with him and what a cool story on multiple levels. Heck when we took him Doug Williams says he screams Terty Mclaurin.

If the McGinn scouts among others are correct among others, the scouting community is higher on him than the draft media. those scouts him him ranked higher than Ezierukau. I get the vibe he's going early 2nd at the latest.
When some in the draft media say they are hearing from some NFL teams that there hasn't been a bigger discrepancy between mocks and what NFL teams are thinking more than this draft -- this player might be one who falls in that discussion.
He seems perfect for this team. Good pass rush production and might be the best run stuffer at the spot.
I don't know for sure. But one beat guy forgetting whom said Del Rio really didn't care for Kyle Hamilton. If so his instincts, clearly weren't hot.
The fact that coaches were influening picks to that extent is sad. Shows how bad that process was.
The other thing is it added to the style under Dan-Bruce-Vinny where non-scouts can influence the process. Ron didn't seem to change that. Of course Dan was the worst culprit. But hearing stories over the years that Doug Williams among others swore by Darrius Guice character but Kyle Smith had grave concerns.
The draft media and Doug convinced Dan he was right about Haskins even though his scouts told him otherwise.
I don't know if Smoot influened Ron as part of the soup about Forbes but it wouldn't shock me if his over the top enthusiasm about him convinced him he was on the right track.
Jamon Davis was a funky pick considering who else was on the board -- but Daniel Jeremiah was the one dude screaming about how he was worth a first round pick and how much he loved him. Again, not sure this was an influence. But I suspect it might have been considering how Ron would quote other people who would agree with his picks and would say he got congratulations texts from others for his picks.
