The 1st Round Pick
Barron is a bit like Sainristil in that he while he can play outside, he is probably viewed as having the highlight potential in the slot. I feel like pure outside corners tend to go higher due to scarcity as teams feel its easier to find slot guys in the mid rounds. All that said, do I think Barron is gone before 29. I do. Buts its conceiveable that he could be there.
Yeah he'd likely be slot. But wow does he jump out. Some players especially in the secondary, it takes sometimes awhile for their play to register. For example I know am supposed to love Starks. But the two games i watched of him, i didn't really see him in the thick of the action. So I need to wacth more. Barron just jumps off the page.

I mentioned Asante awhile back. He is quick and speedy of the LOS and gets to the QB quickly.
I finally had a chance to do a deeper dive on Edge David Walker. Yeah, he went to school that's too small, he is too short at 6 1 and arms are too short under 32" but he was a monster. I love guys from smaller conferences that dominate at their level. Walker is absolutely one of those guys.
I see why a number of posters have brought this guys name up. If we miss on an Edge through the first 2 days this guy should be high on the must get list for the 4th round. Once he gets into camp with good pro coaching and work on technique he has serious potential to do damage.
I mentioned another mid round lb/edge player I like if we miss early, Que Robinson. He isn't a small school guy, he was an overshadowed player from 'bama who is loaded with talent. I find him intriguing late like 5th round player

He's really powerful for a dude that size, crazy motor. He's an older prospect so I wouldn't be surprised if he falls to the late 4th.
Exactly. Slot CBs tend to drop. I recall all the discussion years ago about whether we should take Brian Branch at 19 (Branch more of a hybrid but its the same idea) and will he even be there? He ended up falling to the 2nd.
With the combination of:
A. McGinn's scouts saying they think he falls to the late first
B. The draft media admitting that this year mocks won't be as predictive as usual, saying they are hearing from their sources in the league there is a bigger discrepancy than usual and be prepared to be shocked.
C. Washington invites him this week for the top golf event.
I doubt Peters is just humoring Barron and brought him in just to check out his golf game. Ditto I doubt he plans to trade up in the draft for him. Clearly, he thinks there is a chance he's there at 29. That more than anything is why I decided to watch Barron. Clearly, Washington thinks he could be in play.

Don’t think it’s a coincidence that the only LBs I can find that they met w/, Asante and Buchanan, are both projected in the 5th-6th round range.
I find it interesting that the back and corners they’ve met with are scattered throughout the draft. Get the impression this will depend heavily on the situation come draft day - if they trade off 1, if they add picks, if their guy is there, when they land their edge rusher, etc. Contrast that with edge rushers they’ve visited with, which is are almost all day 1/2 rated.
Wr - 2nd (Higgins, Noel, Tre Harris) and FA (Roc Taylor, Myles Price), and then Keim mentioned Felton (5th?)
I’m glad they met/brought in centers Seth McLaughlin and Jonah Monheim - insurance for Biadasz is a need for sure.
Edit: I’m curious about them meeting with Milum. Can’t see him as a tackle with his arm length, but I also can’t find any other guard types they’ve met with (and I don’t see him converting to C). I like the idea of adding a (potentially) high end G, and the fact they could bump him outside in an emergency is attractive as well.

Not sure what to make of it but judging by buzz, I think there is a chance Ezieruaku is there at 29. Ironically feels like the biggest threat is the Lions one pick ahead of us.
McShay was talking to DJ about the topic, and to summarize that and what McShay said seperately, dudes like him don't tend to take the league by storm right away. Technicians like him, tend to take time to learn the league and how to adjust to it. And it sounds like they were suggesting it might help him drop some. I notice in more mocks he's late first and even early 2nd. Will see.

He amazingly doesn't give up on any play. The clips had him tracking RB's and WR's way down the field for saving tackles and going at the QB even when double teamed and the play going to the opposite side of the field. And yes, extremely powerful, and gets leverage at times due to height. Learning to take advantage of leverage and strength against bigger OL will be key for him
I really hope someone take Pearce ahead of 29. I don't think he will be on our board so removing a Edge needy team by taking Pearce would be great.
Ezieruaki and Egbuka feel like two solid plug and play starters for a decade that a few months ago many of us would have loved to have fall to 29. Now that its distinctly possible both could be there, we look past them to others at the same and other positions. Maybe they are boring picks, but if they take either, it won't be the wrong move. I still have Eze penciled in if they don't trade back or a crazy player drops into our laps
Judging by the draft media odds are good both dudes are there. Odds feel even better especially for Ezeirukau being there at 29 if the scouts who McGinn talked to are on the money. they got him ranked as #10 pass rusher in this group and going in the late 2nd.
If the scouts are on the money as to how it goes for edge -- JT, Scourton, Landon Jackson end up going ahead of Ezeirukau. I know Jeremy Greene who goes on Hoffman (and I love listening to Greene) says the opposite but he seems to be mostly on an island on the point.
Regarding C, yeah, one of the big yucks on our depth chart is seeing Deiter. Bringing in a C late that can bump to G in a pinch would be a big addition. The thing is though, it is not a good group with Monheim having alligator arms and McLaughlin had an Achilles he will be coming back from over the year. I like Kendall but I don't think he can play G.
One of the other notable depth chart hopes is that we need another LB. I am figuring on them grabbing a one that will probably be a smaller quicker type that has some coverage and blitz skille

If character issues were not present, I have Greene Edge2 behind Carter and would have loved him
the more I hear about him, now heard about traffic incidents too, the more am guessing he goes late 2nd.
