I’d be down with that and that would make a ton of sense for Cleveland.

I'd definitely consider it and IMO Dart is worth it. He, like Flacco did, compliments - elevates their offense IMO.

I was just looking at the Yahoo mock draft which has 2 round (you can find it in the breaking news forum!) and I noticed something interesting:

They have Cleveland picking Jaxon Dart with the 33rd pick.

If you are a team picking a QB in the first 5-10 picks of the second round, you should trade up to the last 2-3 picks of the first round just to get the 5th year option.

if that is what Cleveland wants to do, we should offer 29 and move back 4 spots. Might not get a haul, but could pick up a mid round pick. Based on a coupe draft trade calculators, it’s probably the equivalent of a late 4th, early 5th.

If I had to guess, any team trading up won’t want to give up 3 picks for 1, so we’re maybe more likely looking at gaining a pick, and then a pick swap to make up the difference. Of course if there’s a team that would do it, Cleveland would be up there.

RAS is an imperfect measuring tool (Craig and Logan did a nice explanation on it from their mailbag the other day) but these are very nice numbers. Don't love the 3-cone, and I wish we could get info on squats from RBs since that's an important stat for them, but overall a nice potential option.

I think the draft has some interesting developmental tackles like Belton and Travis who could become better starting RTs than Wylie with some seasoning.

Definitely like the idea of a developmental guy, I’m just hoping we also land an olineman that can compete for a starting role (inside or outside) immediately.


Trying to guess where they might go in the draft, broadly speaking, I’m betting we gain a pick or more, we land at least one lineman, 1 player in the secondary, and a receiver/punt returner. (Wild take, right?)

More specifically, I’m guessing DL or maybe OL if they stick at 29, add in corner if they trade back to the early 2nd. 2nd-4th? I’d think DL, OL, TE, RB, safety, and slot receiver are all in the mix. Later rounds (5th-7th, if they acquire a 5th) - perhaps TE, S, slot receiver/punt returner, OL with maybe a K in the 7th? That’s a ridiculous list, lol. Should probably just go with “who knows?”.

I was actually thinking that Wylie might make sense to move in to RG. The biggest issue I've seen with him is that he can be really susceptible in space, especially to inside-out or outside-in moves, where he can get caught flat-footed. So I think with less space to worry about at RG he might actually be pretty good. Coleman has much more athleticism than Wylie, so I think RT could make sense for him if he can learn to play on the right side. Coleman's biggest issue was keeping up with big time speed guys, which he wouldn't have to do as much on the right side.

Wylie played LG before playing RT in KC. He was a JAG there too unfortunately.

One more thought on having Coleman inside longer term is that it also gives you good depth at LT if Tunsil goes down. It’s a boon to be able to just move Coleman outside if needed.

Came across a good looking Day 3 Safety from Jacksonville State, Robert McDaniel. It's hard to find info let alone clips of the smaller school prospects but this guy is flying under the radar IMO.

Yes, but at #61 and not with an earlier 2nd. We need an EDGE and I think we get one with our first 2nd round pick if we trade.

I think it's increasingly likely that Henderson goes before #61, especially if Hampton also goes in the 1st. If we trade back and want Henderson, we'd likely have to use the earlier 2nd.

What are Coleman's limitations? Cause he's got the prototypical OT body. He can move. I think you keep him at RT and develop that potential.

I think this forum has kind of gotten into an echo chamber of writing off Coleman. His pass protection stats in the second half of the season matched high profile 1st round OTs that flashed and developed. Nothing is guaranteed, but he had a good rookie season, way above expectations, and we should be happy he could become a good RT.

I don't think anyone here has written Coleman off. By AP trading for Tunsel shows he felt they could do better at protecting JDs blind side.

I really like the idea of giving him a shot at RT. Reality is, that can be a tough transition. Most of the evaluators felt Coleman would be at his best on the inside many saying where he could be a pro bowler OG.

Coleman is going to get every opportunity to start at RT, they told Keim when they drafted him they see him as a tackle. It’s harder to find tackles than guards. They’re going to try him there until he fails and then if he does they’ll move him inside.

But he’s going to have to fail at tackle before they move him inside. And he hasn’t failed at tackle yet.
