The 2025 Draft Thread

I think if the right Edge or Hampton (if he drops)- otherwise I see a trade down if that is not available. If no decent trade down is available, It will be BPA.

Feels like they have put a lot of free agent juice into DT. Makes me feel like that would be a hard sell for the draft. My guess is DE, RB, or maybe WR which probably means it will be LB or G.

Maybe but I don't think its cut and dry. Some are saying Kinlaw will play more edge not DT. Wise is also an edge. If so really no major moves at DT aside from losing Allen and signing Goldman.

To me the bigger point is there is just as good if not better shot that BPA at 29 will be DT than it will be edge. I along with just about everyone else would love a trade back. If that happens, it wouldn't shock me if they pull both a DT and DE.

I am one of the people who want a RB in the first two rounds. Not sure they are thinking that way though judging by what meetings they've had so far. Be interesting to see this years pro visits. Some draft geek tracked that last year the ones they had formal meetings with and 30 days visits -- most of their draft picks came from that combination albiet not all of them.

Also, I'd be surprised if they don't sign an edge or two more. I guess will see.

To be more specific if they don't get a trading partner at 29 and are stuck with the pick which is possible, just because we want to trade the pick doesn't mean the trading partner will automatically appear.

If BPA at DE is Scourton and BPA at DT is Harmon. It's easily Harmon for me.

It would be great if Harmon is available

James Pierce Jr. is all over the place in mocks. He's so slightly framed. He's kind of like a tall WR with a bit more mass that they shoved at Edge cause he's too thin and high to do much else but rush the passer. Can't play stack linebacker, can't play safety...I guess we'll have him at Edge and use his speed. So far that's all he's really got.

I like Ezeieruaku more.

I also think this drafts edge group and where guys go will seem pretty random. I doubt there's much consensus about ranking them besides Abdul Carter #1.

Dononvan Eezeiruaku is my favorite EDGE too I can only hope that AP/DQ draft him because I think he'll be available at #29. I think they go bigger at DE/EDGE instead though.

imagine what our situation would be if we had, at the very least, taken christian gonzales over forbes or chris olave over dotson.
Fans are always reminded that coaches forget more about football than the fans will ever know in their lifetimes. In the case of Ron, he's the one example where every fan knew more than the coach in one area of football. EVERYONE other than Ron wanted Christian Gonzales and Chris Olave but somehow Ron was allergic to the obvious on draft day. I remember shouting "WHAT THE (expletive)" after each of those picks and still shake my head when I think about those picks today.

We would not have Jayden Daniels

I think Ez is gone by 29 personally. I could see them wanting more of a speed rusher to complement Wise/Kinlaw/Armstrong, but you could well be right.

I haven’t watched him, but with what little I know about him, I wonder if he could be used similarly to Luvu, just more situationally.

Recent mock:
Picked up Sampson cause of the value was hard to tune down.

I really like him. I think he is being underrated for sure. He is known to have a high football IQ. Do you think he could play center too?

I can't find any references to him playing Center - IMO, he seems too tall for the position but I'm sure they're similar types that have successfully done so though just can't think of any off-hand. The IOL class is loaded. It's folly to try and rank these guys after the top ten or so without some metric to weigh them because so many have draftable grades to my eyes, but that's not stopped me before :)

Data Scout Notes: X-HPFA/Coaches think Future 5-7/+10 LBs for 24

He's a Pro Day riser it seems - draft scout is another good resource.

The Eagles have 12 picks, 5 in the top 100, their offense signed until 2029, 6 super star defenders on rookie contracts and are the 3rd youngest team.

We're trading picks for injured old names and hoping to hang. Tunsil, Deebo, Lattimore are good. I get that.

I liked the draft last year and FA and I like a lot of what we did this year, but it's reactionary. I'm still "I believe in AP" and all, but I'm disappointed so far over all. We're building like a team who wants to make the playoffs. Not win superbowls (plural)
