I mean, yeah, we want everyone to be respectful and a good citizen, but everyone is allowed to get mad and post their hurt.
We all knew a return to the old name was a slim shot. Most of us thought that a rebranding was a long shot, but not less of a long shot than Daniels being in the Championship Game this year. We also know how much we've sewn into this team and how hard it has been to stand by it. So losing that long shot hurts because long shots were all we've had going for us for thirty years.
Maybe it's the author in me, but I think I've categorized the team in terms of a trilogy. Book One was Redskins: The Glory Years, Book Two: Redskins: Beyond Purgatory, and now we're starting Book Three: A New Beginning where our hero climbs out of hell and leads us to a much better place.
The thing about us being in Book Three is that it doesn't erase Books One and Two, I can relive them and treasure them anytime I want. What I don't know about though and what's most exciting to me is what will happen in Book Three. So far, it's a pretty exciting opening but includes a shadow of conflict, a never healing scar that we will have to bare from the Snyder years. Sadly, that's a common trope of epic fantasy. Even as the hero goes forward... even as the hero wins and darkness falls, there is always pain. There is always a loss to grieve.
