I'd probably resign Bates as he's fine as a blocking TE who fills multiple roles. He won't be expensive either. If Ertz wants to come back and not retire, I'd absolutely love to have him. Was an absolute warrior today. Disagree big time on Wagner. I know he had an ankle injury, but he was slow even before it. Father Time catches everyone. It is obvious we need way more speed at LB next to Luvu.

With Wagner, if the team feels he's out of gas, that's fine. But like, another 1 year deal wouldn't be horrible, I doubt given how much cap space we have that he'd push anyone out, and he's a tremendous positive from a culture perspective. I kind of want to keep some of these vet culture guys at least one more year until guys like Daniels/Sanristil can take over in the long term.

But yeah, he's mostly there for culture, not for play. We need a succession plan.

Wow, I just read that Ty Johnson is a free agent next year, he is better than any RB on our roster, he has 4.3 speed, the only reason he isn't starting for the Bill's is because they have Cook, we need a speedy RB who can also catch out of the backfield. We must sign this guy!

Yes, look around the league, Barkley, Gibbs, Pacheco, Cook, all speedy RB's that are difference makers. I admit they all have better offensive lines than we do however they also make plays just because of their speed. I am tired of having slow RB's with no vision.

I wouldn't be against it, but I'm a little nervous about throwing a ton of money at him......I'd rather see us get aggressive with CB, Dline, and possibly Wagners replacement........

CB is not going to be hard to fill in FA. Lot of good outside corners will be available

We really need to resign Ertz. He had 66 catches for 654 yards this year, but more than that, he was clutch. He showed up getting open in big moments and making huge catches and that was a huge part of allowing Jayden to be clutch. I'd love to see him back.

This FA class is not awe inspiring. There is very little at OT or on DL. There is some top end talent at WR and guard, and there are solid corners. I'd stock up there, as much as I can, and then focus in on the draft.

Higgins and Trey Smith would add two potential pro bowl level players, solidify our interior OL and give us another desperately needed playmaker across from Terry. I'd start there, grab Ward or Reed, and then fill out with depth.

I agree. I think Zach probably only has a year left. And I'd love a TE that is more of a downfield threat. But I think he seems aware of where is is in his career. I think he's more likely to retire than to move on from Kingsbury and Jayden Daniels. I think this is where he finishes his career. Ideally, I would resign him and draft his replacement to groom behind him for a year. Play more two TE sets, where both TE's can be receiving threats.

They may be hoping that they did that with Sinnott, not sure. Yes, one more year - they may talk to him about exactly that. You are right too, he does sound very aware, not doing the whole "play until I'm 40" shtick. Honestly, I didn't know he had a year like THIS in him. He made me a believer, 100% and not just in him - helped by belief in the staff and FO too.

So it’s not just as easy as saying bye to Ertz and figuring we can make do.

There are so many needs, to have to sign a veteran TE at this point seems like a nice to have rather than a must have.

I don't think Sinnott was drafted to be a Zach Ertz. He wasn't that in college. When Sinnott was drafted, a lot of people compared his potential role to that of a Kyle Juszczyk. A big, physical, utility player that helps make the offense more than the sum of its parts. If he is going to be in a more traditional role, maybe he becomes a rich man's John Bates. A John Bates that is a little bit more of a receiving option and has more positional versatility. We still need a guy with some twitch, hands, and route running chops to eventually replace Ertz. And Ertz's red zone and 3rd down production , especially in big moments, is just going to be extremely difficult to replace. I can see why Philly fans still love Ertz.

I didn’t watch Sinnott at KState but I want to think the reason he was drafted in the 2nd was because of his elite 9.72 RAS

I don’t think they did either. Based on his AZ tenure, my guess is they expected him to go down after a number of games and that would be Sinnott’s window to step in.

Regardless of who is compared to and the role anticipated I do believe they had Sinott penciled in to take over the primary receiving tight end role. And I figured this was one of the safest picks they made. But I have been posting my concerns about his lack of playing time since the halfway point. Not calling him a bust but there is real concern for me.

My take about re-signing some of the players here:

Dyami Brown is a 3/4, at best. In no way is he a #2 WR. I wouldn't mind him back as the #4, which would probably require getting Higgins/Godwin in FA + a draft pick in the first 4 rounds. Having Dyami and Noah fight for the #3/4 spots would be ok if Higgins/Godwin were signed.

Chinn is being overrated by some in the fanbase. His regular season PFF grades were slightly above avg (run grade was clearly above avg) but his postseason grades were terrible.

They can't just change a couple of guys and expect the DEF to be a ton better. Just think about how much worse this defense would have looked if the offense didn't have so many (maybe the most in the NFL) drives of 10+ plays and such a time of possession advantage in so many games. They were 3-5 when they lost the TOP and 9-0 when they won TOP. And they weren't winning the TOP because of 3 and outs by the DEF. It needs a lot of improvement if they want to seriously contend in the playoffs.

I'd consider all of these guys at the right price but I'm not sure I wouldn't replace any of them except Way and Mariota.

I'd expect Peters to go after some familiar names (to him) like Dre Greenlaw and Charvarius "Mooney" Ward from the Niners. Both would be upgrades.

The FA pool seems really deep with CBs this year. They have to pair Lattimore with someone capable and keep Sainritsil in the slot.

Do not resign Lattimore- see if he will resign for much less. Greenlaw and Ward would be great additions. Sign Reed, Ward, Douglas, or Davis at CB. Great Edge potential in the draft, pick one there. Offensive line has some very good 2nd and 3rd rounders in the draft. WR is weak in the draft. Sign one in FA, time to spend one there. DL is deep in the draft. Pick one there. Great start for year 2.
