Dan Snyder - Fugitive?

I hear you. Trust me - I really don't give him any benefit of the doubt. I have no doubt the gist of the article is true. I just think it warranted some direct quotes or attribution. Writing a headline and a whole article based on 'someone' saying Snyder '****ing hates it' is pretty weak. What did he say - exactly? I don't know why someone who's willing to talk to a journalist wouldn't be willing to give specifics. Was it an eyeroll? Did he trash the Harris group? Did he literally say 'I ****ing hate it'?

Because they want to continue being invited to dinners and enjoying the entire menu? Occam’s razor.

They may remember him suing the City Paper. He is still wealthy and petty.

Do you remember when we met with Karl Swanson all those years ago? The one thing I remember about the guy, literally the only thing, was when someone (I don't remember who) brought up the Nationals, and how excited he and the team and Snyder must be for there to be baseball in DC. Swanson immediately shot that down and said something like they're going to suck so who cares. At the time I was just happy to be in the room so I didn't really think much about it, but ever since, I have marveled at the pettiness.

You are right, of course, about the sources and verifying and all that, but ... I wouldn't be at all shocked if everything in the article were true.

Yeah, I do remember that H. Yeah - uncommon pettiness was a common virtue, right? Snyder seemed to surround himself with big blowhards who were nearly as petty as he was.

And on the article - I suspect, yes, it's dead on. I'd have just liked some specifics.

Funny thing is, most people, having gone through such a public humiliation and being all but run out of town on a rail (granted, the best rail $6 billion could buy) might look at the aftermath as an opportunity for some introspection, perhaps try to reclaim some dignity and class, learn something from it all. Apparently, not Dan. Dan is gonna keep on danning for all time.

Daniel Snyder's hatred is the fuel for our supernatural gifts from the gods, such as: the Hail Mary... and the Doink heard around the world.

Those divine interventions never happened when Satan ruled over Landover Maryland.

Keep the Hate pouring in, Little Danny!!

Snyder undoubtedly believes nothing is his fault and that he just never got a franchise QB. He's almost certainly fuming, believing that if he had just been able to hang on, he'd have the same success and finally be credited for it.
The truth is, if Snyder still owned the team, he would have fired Rivera and then named Martin Mayhew as sole GM. They would have hired some OC or QB coach to fix Sam Howell, and then they would have drafted Marv H Jr. So we could be mediocre with Howell throwing to Terry and MH Jr. Maybe he would have offered a monster contract to Saquon, given how much he overpaid players from division rivals. So, we would have a better offense, and a bottom feeder defense, and a mediocre HC, who would buy an extra year by firing the defensive coordinator. In two years he'd be gone, and Snyder would beg someone like Rex Ryan to come in, and give him full control over personnel.

The article may not have a lot of evidence, however it's very easy to see the character flaws from all the years and make the leap.

Regardless, I hope he does hate it.

"Months later, Tad Brown, CEO of HBSE, told confidants, "We don't get the Commanders if not for Joe Gibbs."

Good ol' Joe Gibbs.

Still coming through for us. :cheer2:

Dude seriously.

He's like a reverse voodoo doll now that he no longer owns the team. :nana:

We probably just had more last second wins than in his entire 25 year run, and these were consecutive.

Him being pissed off that they are winning just proves that he's not really a fan. He's just a fan of himself, and he sucks.

So Fuck that guy.

Since Dan never speaks all we can do is hear from others who have spoken with him. Not sure why you would require specifics, it could have been a quick conversation that was relayed to the reporter. And it's 100% believable that he would be this way.

I've said a couple times it's probably accurate. It's called 'journalism'. You don't lead with a headline alleging things, then fail to cite a source or give any specifics. It's shoddy work.

It's bad juju using *** ******'s name on a day like today.

Yeah most people would at least entertain venturing down that path, but Dan Snyder is a dye-in-the-wool narcissist. Those kind of people have no capacity for introspection, or self-reflection, or dignity, or class, etc. That's why it was absolutely no surprise to me when I read in that article that Dan is basically in denial and can't accept any blame for what led to him having to sell.

Which is par for the course. Dan has always been seemingly incapable of realizing that he could be even partially at fault for the bad things that happen to and around him. Everything was always everyone else's fault.

He has also pretty consistently played the victim when bullying people didn't work. Narcissists really only have two modes of interacting with the world: being (loudly) the smartest person in the room, or being the world's biggest victim when the first fails.
