That's what was said in 2005 during the divisional round - when we went into Seattle and took a 10-0 lead, then did nothing the rest of the game.

Gibbs should have seen the writing on the wall when Brunell put up a whopping 25 net passing yards in the Tampa game. Ramsey should have played IMO.

How Rivera keeps getting HC interviews is beyond me! makes me wonder if these owners are complete football idiots.
or maybe.. they use Rivera as a cautionary tale "see, this is what a moron for coach looks like.. don't hire anyone with his traits"

He's been on GMFB at least once a week for months.
Doesn't mean he knows anything, but he's been putting his shitty ass out there.
 
The Redskins never should have traded Jay Schroeder. I know, they got Jim Lachey. But Doug Williams clearly was not the future in 1988, and Jay was a better QB than Mark Rypien. I happened to watch the first half of the Redskins/Bears divisional playoff game from 1/3/1987 a few months ago. Schroeder was never the most accurate QB, but he broke the Bears blitz that day. Could have won another super bowl and been set at QB through the mid 90s.
 
Couldn't disagree more. Schroeder was a Jeff George without the accuracy. The only thing he had in his arsenal was the deep ball. Besides which, everyone on the team hated him. Rypien was a worse athlete, but a better teammate and a better QB. Lachey should be in the Hall of Fame. Schroeder with the Raiders was a below average QB.

The best game I remember with Schroeder was the Vikings game in 86. I have it on a hard drive somewhere along with everything else that was available on TenYardTorrents 15 years ago. He looked like Steve Young in that game. He scrambled and threw darts all over the field. IMO he was basically Josh Allen before his time. He was also a major head case from what I've heard.

Right, but I think he was young and Gibbs would have been able to mentor him if he had stayed.

Not to be controversial but I hate reading stuff like this. We don’t know the guy. Why is he obviously a good man? He supported Snyder till the end, and afterwards, when he did NOT have to. Snyder had sold and he was home free and he was still speaking that man’s praises. Disgusting behavior given what Snyder is known to have done to his employees. Rivera has a stoic demeanor and wishes he served in the military, to the point of nearly fetishizing it. As far as I can tell that’s the extent of the “trust me he’s a good man” stuff. Maybe he’s a nice guy, people around the league seem to like him well enough. We really shouldn’t assume we know someone’s character from a distance and state it as fact, imo. Especially not someone lacking in self-awareness and lacking in emotional intelligence like Rivera seems to be. Not to be a dick but those are not traits that I’d ever stake my reputation on, as a general rule.

I agree, he would be an excellent fit in Dallas!
