Hard for us fans to know if our oline issues against certain teams stem from guys being banged up/out, or from facing more difficult fronts, but either way, the line could use some help.

I’m not quite sure what to think of our dline. They’ll get gashed in the run game, but then also produce a bunch of run stuffs/TFLs. I also feel like the secondary generally makes the dline’s life harder - giving qbs outlets, and forcing us to lighten the box. Hopefully Lattimore makes a difference in that respect.
It’s great having a chess piece like Luvu, but using him often as a pass rusher also means we’re either dropping an edge rusher into coverage or rushing 5 (or 6, with Wagner blitzing) - putting that DE in a less comfortable situation or leaving our secondary undermanned. Point being, it would be great if our front 4 was stout enough to hold their own… and not just against less talented offenses. Bottom line, our DTs haven’t been disruptive enough (ie we could use a difference maker there), and while Fowler’s having a career year, we could also stand to add to our DE group (even if we re-sign Fowler).

Of course, none of that diminishes our need for help in the secondary and weapons in the pass game.

I am really hoping we take care of most of our needs in FA and we get some team friendly deals because players like to play for Quinn. BPA would be a great way to go in this draft.

At RB, I think TreVeyon Henderson is the perfect fit for what we need. Probably top 3 in the draft in terms of each of pass catching ability, pass protection and home run speed. He is also built at a solid 215. From Richmond to boot. His Achilles heel has been injuries but he has stayed healthy this year splitting carries with Judkins. Against real competition, he has been getting about 12 touches a game. While Jahmyr Gibbs sometimes gets 19-20 touches a game, he usually gets 12-15. I think RB is the deepest position in this upcoming draft. IMO, there will be late round choices that will make rosters, and be solid players in the league. Because of that, I’d be hesitant to use a pick too early on RB. Guys like Sampson and Singleton could fall into day 3. Sampson is a guy I’m taking a closer look at, because his speed is electric.

Heck, even a guy like Roman Hemby, who will likely be a UDFA, could end up being a baller. I want to see what these guys put up in the combine, and/or draft workout days. Lots of talent at RB in this year’s draft.

This is the year to trade up and get a stud. Get one of the blue chippers that falls to the teens because teams early on reach for bad QBs(see Bowers and Mitchell among others this past draft).
 
We need another tackle but I think Coleman from what I have seen can play left tackle in the NFL and at 23 has room to grow.

So, while I would look for a tackle in the draft or FA, I am not so sure if I am Peters that I am using the #1 pick on that position.

You could make the argument that the offensive line has played a lot better this year than expected overall while the defensive line and rush outside of Fowler and Luvu has been a marked disappointment.

So, a quality three down DE to me is a priority.

Up there as well is a need at wide receiver.

While I would have no problem resigning Noah Brown to come back in 2025 it would be with the expectation that he is the #3 or #4.

The others? I don't think any of the other receivers has made a case for their return. I know McCaffrey will come back because of his draft position, but here we are in Week 13 and we get 2 catches for 13 yards from him against Tennessee.

He's tall at 6'2 and has 4.4 speed but is soft. This guy needs his brother to take him to the weight room and toughen him up a bit.

He looks like a quarterback trying to play wide receiver.

Dyami Brown and Zaccheus, etc. these are replacement level players, the type of guys teams can usually find to sign off the street if they get hit by the injury bug, etc.

You don't go into 2025 expecting these players to be major contributors.

To me it's a shame we didn't have Zaccheus returning kicks AND punts so that the wear and tear on Austin Ekeler, who is far more important to the team, would not end up with the kind of injury he suffered.

Kickoff returns are not as important a part of the game as they were 40 years ago due to the rules changes and so to put a key guy on offense back on returns to me was a mistake.
 
My comp for Simmons is Paris Johnson with a little less athleticism but more dawg. Both guys were a little technically raw coming out and have played multiple positions. Simmons has also played RT and guard. He doesn’t necessarily have to replace Coleman but can be your solve at RT and would present a major upgrade to Wylie

I think there is a dropoff for impact immediate starters at WR after Hunter, McMillan and Burden. Would love Burden as the electric slot guy if he falls to us but I doubt he will
 
I think Lucas' insertion demonstrates that we probably do need a long term fix at right tackle. I'm not opposed to drafting that in the first round if a tackle is the best player available, but I don't know that it's our highest need. Peters will likely go with a BPA strategy with need being the tiebreaker. I suspect we all would agree on the biggest need areas.

CB, WR2, RB, DT, EDGE

As far as running back, I think we could use both a third round back, but maybe even a replacement for BRob. BRob has amazing fight in him, but he gets hurt way too much and is starting to be unavailable or limited as often as he is available.
 
I don't take a RT in the first round UNLESS I have found a strong #2 receiver and help on the DL in free agency or via trade.

With the price of wide receivers going through the roof as well as that for edge rushers, I would think Peters would maneuver to draft at one of both of these positions at the top of order.

I don't want to pay Tee Higgins $110M :LOL:
 
Yeah, I may be in the minority, but I'd rather re-sign Noah Brown and continue with that chemistry and develop rookie pass catchers than spend 110 on Tee Higgins.
 
Mind you, I do want us to re-sign Noah Brown period.
 
What's wrong with Brown? He catches the ball, blocks well and seems to be a good teammate. And he's cheap.

I have no problem with them bringing him back as a depth player for us.

He's definitely a step or more up from having Dotson, Brown and Zaccheus next to McLaurin, which is the way we somehow started the 2024 season.

I don't think Burden is a 1st rounder. I've only watched 2 games of him, but I don't think he's a team fit. Not as electric or as big as advertised. There's also a problem where it appears his effort is different when he's a primary read on a play and when he's not. He does not seem interested in the blocking that Adam Peters or Kliff Kingsbury would like to see out of a slot.
