Now I don't blame Gruden for calling him names.
 
Mark Davis wants the emails released. He believes since his guy got fired because of them they should all be released.

He's right.
 
I'm beginning to wonder if the findings might in some way incriminate Goodell like they did Gruden.

Obviously no evidence here but it is something I think we all might need to start considering.

I think we have all wondered who else this incriminates. Snyder had to have cut a deal with Goodell and the other owners. The question is, who else was incriminated and how bad is it.

I also don’t understand how they can’t release the report. I’ve been skeptical about them doing a data dump as I believe it could cause harm to victims who may not want their name brought up in public. Especially if (as reported) there are pictures of cheerleaders or others that were sent around without their knowledge. But the report should take that into account and would be easier to redact names. The only reason not to release the report is to protect Goodell or the other owners.

I have been wondering if Snyder's ruthlessness also extends to the other owners. He sinks to very low behavior in a lot of business dealings, including in his court cases (especially in the Bruce Allen allegations, which I tend to believe because they make a lot of sense). What could he have gathered on the other owners? Maybe he recorded conversations at meetings? He has threatened them with a treasure trove of emails? Who knows. I don't put much past him, I think he is pretty slimy and willing to do almost anything to get what he wants. He is just not smart enough to apply that principle to fielding a winning football team.
 
I don’t believe that there is a corporation in this country that would willing release anything like this without being compelled to by a judge or by a Congressional subpoena.

And even that subpoena would most likely be legally appealed.

I don't think you get to where Snyder is in this world without a certain minimum level of ruthlessness. With that in mind, all of the owners are likely to be part thug and have dirt on each other.

Or maybe I am just a cynic.

I would get that argument relating to the emails. I’m not sure I agree about any ‘report’ coming from Beth Wilkinson. They aren’t compelled to release it but given the purpose of the ‘investigation’ was to determine whether NFL employees were abused, I would think there is some moral expectation that findings beyond the vagaries of a ‘less than ideal workplace’ be revealed in a transparent way.

That’s not to say I think the NFL gives one iota of a **** about what the right thing to do is.
 
On October 26th, the full report of an independent investigation of sexual misconduct within the Chicago Blackhawks hockey organization from 2010 was made public by the team. The identity of the player/victim was protected in the report, but just yesterday, this player revealed his identity on his own accord. In a nutshell, there was a big cover up of sexual misconduct that took place by the team's video coach towards a player within the 'Hawks organization. Many senior team officials elected to temporarily sweep it all under the rug so as not to disrupt the team's chemistry in the midst of their eventual Stanley Cup championship that year. This story has taken over sports media here in Canada. Upon the release of the report, the Blackhawks parted ways with all team officials who were in the know of this incident.

Maybe I am missing something here, but doesn't this story just add another layer of awfulness to the WFT situation?

You have another professional sports franchise coming clean, but the same can't be done by the NFL in regards to what was happening in Washington?

It's a terrible look for the league all around and I can't imagine that this situation relating to the Blackhawks helps the NFL's cause in any way in terms of continuing to withhold information and the findings.

It's obvious that any release of information would bury a multitude of people within the NFL, not just Dan.

I agree with all of that with the exception of the moral expectation/obligation part. I just don’t believe that that is of any concern to the NFL (or any other corporation) unless they determine it is in their best interest to do so. Maybe if large advertisers (Budweiser, Pepsi, etc) pressured them they would. Maybe. Big maybe.

Dan Snyder, the NFL and Roger Goodell are probably pointing fingers and giggling at the situation and calling them ‘rookies’.

Easier to do the right thing when ownership doesn't appear to be involved though. I can't help but wonder if this would have taken place like this if Blackhawks ownership had been complicit.

Only beginning to wonder LOL I'd venture a guess Goodell is dirtier than Snyder, and protecting 90% of the teams from getting dragged into this mess.
 
One wonders why there has been no lawsuit yet. Subpoenas are amazing things.

All this relying on powerful men, who don't want to give up their power, to do the right thing is getting us nowhere and isn't likely to anytime soon.
 
Only way anything changes is if either Congress takes a serious interest in it or the courts force some transparency.

If there was a smoking gun, pretty sure it would be out on the table by now.

Allen would have shouted it from the rooftops if so. Seems horrible management is the best they got now
