Maybe Mark Davis wanted some leaks so he could "fire" Gruden without firing him?
 
Oh the irony it would represent if Snyder’s own machinations to ‘get’ his former GM and reveal him as the unnamed source for those articles ended up being what got all those emails exposed and him potentially removed.

I don’t think there’s much chance of it happening, but there is a ton of noise even in the mainstream media demanding more light to be shed on the emails and the ‘non-report’ report…

This is the first I’m hearing that Bruce Allen was the supposed source feeding info for those attack articles.
 
This team is so hard to root for these days.
 
If they just burned it to the ground, got out ALL scandals, and let us get back to what we want as fans it would be ok.

But, even though this is 10+ years old, it looks fresh to those on the outside who don't know.
 
There’s only one solution to all of it. Remove Snyder. Move the team to London or elsewhere. Start over in DC with an expansion team in a new stadium.

ive said it before .. In your scenario that would be the end for me as a redskin fan .. the thought of losing the franchise I grew up loving and rooting for being dissolved and replaced with an expansion team simply wouldn’t work .. I’m not saying I disagree with you and I’ll even say it should probably happen but the thought of that is hard to swallow

I think it might be the only way I can continue rooting for a football team in DC. If Snyder survives I think my fandom is on life support.
 
There is only one solution to this and we have all been saying it for a year. Snyder has to be forced to sell the team. Somehow he keeps saying that everyone else was out to get him and so far, the league is backing him on that. But look at the mess he has made with peoples lives as a result of his poor leadership. Even if this was all Allen’s fault, guess who brought him in and kept him around and gave him the power to do all this.
 




So Allen was the leak all along? And Schefter got his leaks proofread?

The problem is in America you can't and shouldn't be able to force any owner of any entity to sell . You must convince them to sell . Two totally different things

NFL teams are ‘franchises’, not independent businesses. That’s a subtle distinction but it matters. Owners are part of a larger organization where profits are shared, joint decisions are made, etc… There are circumstances for which formal removal of an owner is possible and warranted.
 
Under Section 8.13 of the NFL’s constitution and bylaws, the commissioner can determine if an owner or any other official “has been or is guilty of conduct detrimental to the welfare of the League or professional football.” Based on that determination, the commissioner can issue fines or, in extreme cases, push for a vote on whether to force the owner to sell.

“The commissioner can refer that recommendation to the executive committee of the league and then, with a three-quarters vote, the executive committee can strip an owner of a franchise if they feel like it’s warranted,” Jodi Balsam, a former NFL counsel and current associate professor of clinical law at Brooklyn Law School, told FOX Business.

Although these powers exist and there are procedures set forth in the contract that governs the owners’ relationships with each other for there to be a route to stripping somebody of their ownership, the NFL has never taken that route,” Balsam added. “It prefers to negotiate its way out of those situations by persuasion and trying to convince the miscreant owner to depart on his own accord.”

Miscreant. Sounds about right. 🤣
