Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions, 2019

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Pothead Crybaby painted himself into a corner with his bullshit claim about the team not freaking out over his boo boo. He has to make it look like it's not about the money. Even though it is, and always has been.

I do hope the team is petty enough to **** with him, and his money, as much as possible. Up until 5 minutes before the trade deadline. Then trade him to the worst team, with the best offer.

To hell with that fat, stupid, pot smoking, ungrateful multimillionaire crybaby mf'er.

I do think that's more or less exactly what's going on. It's hilarious - all you have to do is say 'medical' and swarms of fans come to your defense even though what's been leaked about his 'grievance' makes zero medical sense. I swear to you, from everything I've heard about the supposed 'malpractice', it was handled exactly as it should have been. Barring some major events we don't know about (and I have to think Trent would've made sure we knew about them if they existed) it's a total non-story. But fans lap it up because it fits so nicely with their view of Bruce Allen as the Antichrist.

I couldn't agree more Bulldog. If you say it that bluntly on Twitter the mob will be all over your ass. I know :)

Seriously? This makes me want to create a twitter account to troll said mob

Agree on TW.

As for Allen? Miracle maker the last nine years!

Not.

Beside the point. I'm talking about the medical bullshit and nothing more.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

#15 made a major case to make the 53 man roster tonight.

That must be why you brought up Allen as the antichrist. I simply walked through the door you opened.

Just the same....I agree on TW.

You know Al - not every thing I post is about or directed towards you :) Thats the 2nd or 3rd time in a couple weeks you've responded as if I were.

That comment is directed at the Twitter mob that attacks anyone who says anything that might suggest a player may be wholly or partly to blame and that not every ****ing wrong in this world is brought on by the Redskins front office.

Boone....I never assume your comments are directed at me. You made a comment on Allen directed at a group of people that involved Allen. I don't even have a twitter account - I'll forgo the reasons why :) I took advantage of the opportunity to leverage the comment.

To review the bidding: I posted early on were TW really focused on medical issues he'ld be with the team now as that is a better position to fix things - from the inside. I agree it's about money from a person who has made a ton of it.

The team appears to want to play tough. At this point, I don't really care what the FO does about TW. I want to see good football and wins, at the very least, against NFCE rivals. I apologize if the patience level is pegging at empty - and therefore a drag on the psyche of the more forward looking. To address the obvious comeback: one doesn't jump ship...one demands performance and holds leadership accountable. Pre-season or not, that stadium looked wildly empty last night. I heard some stats yesterday on the radio that the Skins have had some of the worst stats in the league with attendance percentages populated by fans from opposing teams - I'm not alone in this. Now is the time to keep the pressure on....not throttle back.

You and others have pointed to improvements. I agree there is potential. However, until woven into an actual team that executes and succeeds it's still samo samo in my mind. I tune in every game. From where I sit the team has gotten younger and faster. It seems as though it has, overall, better athletes. But there's no "there" there. In my mind, Haskins has plateaued - for the moment. I knew from the git-go that this was going to be the case given his one year of college starting experience. Keenum will get in there, move the team, but toss a bunch of picks as well - that's his track record. Haskins, IMO, will be in the starting line-up sometime before the mid-point of the season. There are things he has done that have been fun to watch. O verall, I find it difficult to sustain interest because of all the missed opportuntities that trace to his growth curve - in particular consistency, fundamentals and execution under pressure. It's frustrating that a decent defense may very well be wasted because the offense has no identifiable stand-outs, no identity, no threats opposing defenses have to account for (maybe AP/Guice - we'll see; it's easy to stuff the box if there is no real passing threat). I understand pre-season is limitted in terms of goals. Just the same, what we've seen repeats the past - an offense that can't score; no passing game because the wideouts don't execute; QBs constantly under pressure; questionable o-line depth; "what are they thinking" coaching.

As for Brudan......you know the theme...so let's press.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

All I know is Josh Doctson should not be on the final 53 man roster and if he is that is evidence saving face is more important than winning football games.

Doctson does not play special teams so if he is not a legit starter he is useless waste of a roster spot.

Brian Mitchell said he is watching this one.

Me too.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Amen brother. We know what he is and it isn't enough. Give a talented youngster like Steven Sims his opportunity. I agree that decision will be a sign pointing towards what our priorities are.

Sims would make a Gibbs team because of his versatility.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

While we're waiting for roster cuts, just wanted to let everyone know that the final formal entry will be posted next Thursday morning. A dedication will follow.

The new in-season blog will be posted shortly thereafter. A few changes will be made to that blog. We will have weekly grades, but it won't focus entirely on individual units. It will center on offense, defense, special teams, and coaching. Less verbiage can be a good thing.

Included in the weekly grades will be a prediction for the next game with a few explanations. As always, feel free to offer your own grades and predictions - I love seeing them.

Thanks for being a significant part of the off-season blog each year. All of you are what makes this blog happen.

In the interim, there is still a lot to do. The 2019 season is almost here.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

You have absolutely crushed it Ken. I cannot express adequately my appreciation for all of your hard work bringing us free agency, trade, and player news. There is no one who does it as well as you do
