Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

I need to do a much better job with the off-season blog each year. I'll need to analyze what is going on and make substantial improvements. Any suggestions are welcomed at any time of the year.

The views for this blog are going to fall about 40,000 shy of last year's total. Total likes are about 340 shy of last year. The "Thanks" are much higher than last year. Strange.

Views here or via Twitter? Where are you looking at stats?

Don't know how you could do a better job brother - you've rocked it.

Here. Just comparing it to the off-season blog of last year.

Yes, I recall that thread. But I need to work harder and be more creative. I'll work on it.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

New England allowed Nate Solder to move on when NY offered outrageous money and they were able to plug and play with Trent Brown on the way to the Super Bowl at LT.

Denver didn't have an elite LT in 2015.

Philly has Jason Peters but at 37 he has missed a LOT of time on the field during crucial runs to the playoffs.

My point here is the Redskins and fans can point to Trent Williams' absence and use that as a crutch in 2019 but in this age of parity the loss of one player unless a generational quarterback is rarely fatal.

There isn't a team in the NFL that doesn't have a glaring weakness somewhere (or that won't soon have one). Just a reality of the modern game as it's very difficult to build a winning roster and keep it together nowadays.

I'd prefer to have the OL be a glaring strength. But doesn't necessarily mean we can't operate on offense and have some success.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Things would be helped a bit if we had a TE who can block.

We are now working on Year 3 with these TEs with the glaring weakness at the line of scrimmage unaddressed.

I always thought the way to prolong Reed's career was to use him on the outside and slot as a WR and take one WR slot away to sign a capable two way blocking end to play on the line.

Seems Trent for Clowney won't happen so any reports mentioning Redskins as a suitor are just price driving imho.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

NBC and others reporting that TW told DeAngelo Hall there's no way he'll be at Redskins Park any time soon.

So, we all have issues with Bruce Allen. What is possibly gained by giving yesterday's interview and saying TW will play for the Skins this year??? If you know he's reporting, that's fine. But clearly he is not reporting, so why further piss him off by stating that he will? I really just don't get the thought process.

There can be only one goal for Williams and that's to be traded. He has no other possible good option. Are Allen and Snyder really petty enough to refuse to deal him just so Williams doesn't get what he wants? Or are they just determined not to set a precedent where a player can hold the team hostage mid-contract?

And what kind of a puss is Williams that he can't even step up and make his own statement vs. leaking **** through friends and intermediaries? Starting to think he's as big a diva as RG3 was...

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Agreed. There is enough for us fans to be upset with both sides. Brucie gains nothing by saying that in the interview yesterday. And Trent still has never said anything directly. Blech.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Williams has a contract and should live up to it. If he feels the Innova medical staff that I believe the Redskins employ did not do their jobs with his growth then he can engage them in civil litigation.

He is letting 52 other players down by playing this like a 14 year old that didn't get his latest Call of Duty version for Christmas.

Yes, Trent because you are unhappy we are going to fire 20 medical people AND just to be extra sensitive we are going to give you an additional bonus of $20M.

If that's what he is waiting for I would be moving on as quickly as possible.

He's now in that 'zone' that Sean Gilbert was in here were God was telling him not to sign an extension with the Redskins.

As it turns out he ended up going to Carolina and the Redskins were able to get two #1 picks for him.

That may not happen here, but I would take a #1 , even a late one, and a player for Williams and move on.

Williams is still a good player when healthy but he is not what he was at 27 or 28.

I think that was the last time he was actually named to the NFL 'all-pro' team.

Making pro bowls with all of the starters/alternates, etc. for both conferences doesn't really represent the same type of valuation.

To be an 'all-pro' you have to be considered THE best at your position that given year.

You can make the argument that Jason Peters and Tyron Smith at times over the past 4-5 years have played as well or better than Trent Williams.

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Pothead Crybaby painted himself into a corner with his bullshit claim about the team not freaking out over his boo boo. He has to make it look like it's not about the money. Even though it is, and always has been.

I do hope the team is petty enough to **** with him, and his money, as much as possible. Up until 5 minutes before the trade deadline. Then trade him to the worst team, with the best offer.

To hell with that fat, stupid, pot smoking, ungrateful multimillionaire crybaby mf'er.

I couldn't agree more Bulldog. If you say it that bluntly on Twitter the mob will be all over your ass. I know :)
